List is not in order but 2794 2788(?) 2604 2798 2796 2802 2805 2699 & 2608 are confirmed retired. They are in the back of South Division alongside the NABIs.

Edit: 2808 2810 2809 2807 and a 281x unit(trees were blocking my photo. But it’s probably 2816)

That weird why retire the 2009s over the 2006 models. Sounds like alot of the buses were at the 3rd party garages.

The 2009 models (except 2788) are vehicles that were operated by contractors First Student - Westmont and MV-Romeoville on Metra rush hour shuttles that have not run since 13th April 2020.

The only reason I can come up with is maintenance.   Maybe the conductors didn't maintain them well or those buses have been sitting up so long it would be expensive to bring those buses up to a good state of repair to put them back in service.

I suspect they are not "retired" but "stored serviceable" pending a decision whether Metra feeders will run again. At this point they are still "suspended", not "discontinued". If they do come back, they will go back into service.

True, but there are some new buses coming as well.   Even if the Metra shuttle return. There will be buses retiring.
