BusHunter
I must be living right. This evening I boarded NF #1860 on 112 Vincennes/111 at the 95th/Dan Ryan terminal and it smelled like #1870 [new car smell]. No Taco Bell tone on this bus though. Gene #1860 was running on the #29 in the evening rush. It must have went south and became a 112. Something to note about the chimes if the bus gets stuck in traffic and the chime chimes about 5 or 6 times it will stop chiming until someone pulls the cord again at the next stop. Also the chime is not on every new release. It seems to be something that is switched off and on these buses it may have been forgotton. Just so you know I rode #1863 last night on the #36 and it had no chime. Didn't have a destination sign anywhere either. It had the CTA paper sign on the windshield. geneking7320
The Taco Bell site includes the tone if you mouse over the bell. Is that what it was? However, I would worry more about the smell after leaving Taco Bell than entering it, especially after the "ForthMeal." The sound was quite a bit like the "bell". Also, when I boarded 1860 on route 112 there was a CTA employee on the bus who noticed the smell and mentioned it to the driver. The employee didn't like the smell. The employee didn't like the smell. If you mean the "new car smell," what was wrong with it? Did the employee expect the usual smell of urine or vomit? ryanbytes
1873 was on #22 Clark today. The odometer read 678.3 miles and the driver and I got a real kick out of it.

Bright and shiny on the outside, no advertising outside or inside the bus, with the exception of the "Stand Up for People with Disabilities" sign above the black shielding behind the driver. As I recall, he thought the bus had that "new car smell". He just didn't like it. I think we were all happy the bus didn't smell like urine or vomit. It was taken out of service at Navy Pier.
ryanbytes
There were two New Flyer training buses at Jefferson Park on the 3rd. Here's a shot of the second.

Now I see what you folks were saying about the front # being hidden by the ad.
jajuan
Nice shot. Now I see what you folks were saying about the front # being hidden by the ad. Yep. All you can tell is that it was borrowed from NP as indicated by its 'P' sticker. It is a good shot though.

BusHunter
I thought the lower 1900s would be on the street by now.... The highest I've seen on the street was #1893 yesterday on the #144. I've also seen #1889 and #1887 in the last few days. Haven't seen any from 103rd though. Being that only up to #1898 has been delivered, no doubt about it the the #1900's will be on the street next week anytime after about Wednesday. Busjack
Apparently some marginal transfers from K to 74: 1725 on 63 and 1728 on 9.
BusHunter
Apparently some marginal transfers from K to 74: 1725 on 63 and 1728 on 9. Now that the #4000's are coming to Kedzie, something has to ship out. Although my thinking was maybe some more #6000's for Chicago to replace the #5300's. I guess there's a few more Cummins #6300's on the retirement list now. seeing 74th getting more #1000's. Maybe the #6000's aren't placeholders at Kedzie after all.

That's strange because I spotted 1729 on #82 Kimball-Homan around Belmont less than an hour ago, unless that's not one of the transfered buses. Also, I spotted 1905 today on #49B North Western at Devon and Western.

Maybe these 2 are just loaners for the day; just looked on the Tracker map on all of 74th's routes, and didn't find anything else besides 1725 and 1728 out there.
