BusHunter
Interesting. Right now no buses are in service at fg lower than #6439. I'm looking for 150 buses at FG all not in service right now!! Wow!! Edited June 22, 2015 by BusHunter
Guest
No offense BusHunter but I wont even comment on this. Ive seen more than enough from CTA between this and the 2600s. Im not surprised by any of it! I am curious to see what Nova we end up with at the CFD. The word is that were getting the next fire dept bus from FG Edited June 23, 2015 by Guest

Busjack
Anybody notice a mistake on this sign?Coast Guard Dr. at least used to be the name of LSD between Hayes and Marquette (the bowed section). Apparently is no longer. Don't know how close the bus gets to the Beach House, or if one has to cross LSD at Hayes.BTW, there was a joke that if you saw the gold statue 3 or 4 times going to the Museum of Science and Industry, you were lost.Update: I can't get 63 to load into the Bus Tracker map, but it does show 63rd Street Beach as a bus stop on the Bus Time display. Bridgeportbus
1264 is on the 54b. It still has a north park sticker in the windshield.
garmon757
This how close it goes to. However, another goof is the routing at 63rd/Ashland Green Line. The arrow is wrong on the westbound side. It don't bypass the station going west.

andrethebusman
#34-S Michigan - after years of deteriorating conditions on 133rd St on the south edge of Altgeld Gardens - the street was becoming like the infamous "Burma Road" with huge potholes - buses were rerouted 6/18 via 131st to Ellis-130th-Evans loop. City is slowly rebuilding the Gardens, looks like 133rd will finally get something done to it.

BusHunter
Thanks Andre, we could have probably used that list this time. After seeing #6401 - #6437 gone for two straight days i suspected something was up. So they must think Chicago has better buses than they do. The seat installer has alot of work to do!! Alot of those fg retirees will probably go under their own power. I'm surprised #6401 is going. That was one good bus. #6846 should be out and about. It's #6845 and #6860 I'm looking for.Yeah #6846 is on the #92. #6548 is still on the #70, so that's still chicago's bus. jajuan
This how close it goes to. However, another goof is the routing at 63rd/Ashland Green Line. The arrow is wrong on the westbound side. It don't bypass the station going west. The arrows pointing in the wrong directions at the Green Line in both directions was actually going to be my only guess. The beach routing I'm never too clear on with the 63 so I would have actually missed that.
jajuan
So basically as we suspected 74th and Chicago got NFs from Kedzie and NP mostly with a few contributed by 103rd for 6400s they both pushed out to FG now that more NFs became available from rehabbing. And those 6400s in turned replaced 6400s that we had a good suspicion had to be on their way to the shredder since there was no way FG had close to 300 buses. BusHunter
No wonder #6878 hasn't been out much lately. it pulled into Logan Square blue line on the #76 and it's front sign said it was going to Nature Museum and it's side sign said it was going to Harlem. Never saw that one before. It had everyone talking about it at the station cause noone knew where it was going and I didn't even see the bus (where it came from) until it was already at the stop. I guess that is one way to get your mug on the evening news. SMH

What is it going to take to get the CTA to realize that their trains aren't safe anymore?Running without headlights has nothing to do with the equipment itself. If you notice there are no markers either. That one is on the operator, either a) for not turning them on, or B) leaving the terminal without checking to see if they work. As for the yard fiasco, wasn't the equipment but lack of maintenance and procedures. Oh and lets not forget the end all be all PTC the feds want you to believe is the ultimate safety mechanism (NOT) that worked, but yet didn't.I see an awful lot of trains in the morning on the Kennedy with one headlight or one red rear light burned out. That is on mechanical for not addressing at end terminal.

Indeed, that was a bonehead decision but that 's what happen when technology kicks our asses with bs.

BusHunter
The doors can be open and the train can move, but I think it has to be in some sort of bypass mode, or it can be done if the door is cut out, cause I've seen it. But usually CTA personnel will be with the open door and the car will most likely be closed off. Saw this on the Red line with #2600's. Sometimes you can be in a situation where the doors can't close which was the case when i saw it. Now the question that comes to mind was this being bypassed or a door malfunction? I thought they took them out of service in that case. If anything, they need warning tape over the doorway if it's a bypass.
