More Bus Moves

As of right now, 74th now has an entire group of buses from #1405 to #1565. Ex-Chicago Garage bus #1422 was on route #47 yesterday night while #1546 (which was still at 77th this past Saturday) is showing up on route #75 today. Thus, other than a few additional buses owed by 77th to 74th, that's all for 74th as far as the swaps are concerned.

If 1740, 1741 and 1741 left 74th for Kedzie, then yeah the actual swapping buses out from 74th is done. But looking at the 161 count in that group of NFs, adding that to the 99 in service Novas and noting 74th's total bus count doesn't typically go far beyond 260 suggests they may be done with 74th completely as FG and 103rd now seem to be complete for now. So it looks like 77th NFs will settle down to 1219-1404 for a count of 186 buses when all is said and done (@garmon757 it looks like you were right my friend about 77th stopping in the low 1400s instead of upper 1300s since FG getting a few more NFs a little after the time of my hypothesizing 74th may get some 1390s changed the math a bit:)). It also would appear the remaining 1500s at 77th may indeed go to Kedzie, meaning Kedzie NFs will start at 1566 with the cutoff being about the 1752 mark that it's currently sitting. That's a 187 NF count when done, meaning the swapping has Kedzie short by about 7 buses.currently looking at BH's roster list.

Which, I'm sure gets down to how much K work was moved to C, and also how many artics are left at K.

Anyway, it is starting to look like it is sorting out, such as when you sort a deck of cards, what's left after about 2/3rds is also about in order.

Probably, but I was also getting at recent observations by Garmon that Kedzie was short buses last week to need to borrow a few 1900s from 77th. But you are correct that overall it looks to be fleet numbers are close to being in order (with an exception it would seem of 1753-1760 going from 74th to C).

Ummm is 74th short because #1223 is on #55A, #1313 is on #55, and #1912 is on #49 (no, it's not a North Park run). Also, #1929 and #1934 are still at Kedzie. @jajuan, it's gets down to the wire whether or not 77th or North Park ends at #1399, between #1400-05, or just #1405.

Or does 77th have that many extras on its hands to send out buses temporarily to other garages? (1313 should be a recent transfer from NP to 77th) Both our questions are reasonable ones. Also both 77th and NP still have buses that appear meant to be part of upcoming swaps still to be done. So if 74th doesn't get additional NFs (either 1400-05 from NP or the remaining 1560s from 77th), then the remaining upper 1300s at NP as well as 1400-04, since 1405 is now at 74th, should be meant for 77th. It doesn't seem likely that with the swaps left to go that they'll be letting those particular buses remain at NP.

Looks like 77th is getting #1317-22. #1319 is currently on the #8. #1338 is also on the #3, so 77th probably got #1338-39. I'm still trying to figure out if #1740, #1741 and #1743 left 74th, but they probably did. Why would 74th leave 3 odd buses? Other than those 3 74th now has a consecutive numbered fleet, so it would be the second garage finished so far.

With 1929 and 1934 what are your thoughts. Are those becoming permanent?

77th has been causing problems when it comes to a stable fleet. I don't see what's the hold up releasing #1566-76, #1587-96, #1600, #1603, #1606, and #1620 to make sure Kedzie receives them. Things would've been running smoothly if they stop acting so stingy. Otherwise, what's the point having 3 of their buses operating 74th routes today?

Doesn't 77th have a higher fleet total though now as they have been the go to garage now that Kedzie has this storage issue. I think there over half done. Now where are my #8200's? Tick Tock Tick Tock, at the tone CTA has 2 hours to go in May. (Beep) xD I hope I don't have to sing them another song. 9_9

77th seems to be up though even beyond Kedzie's storage issue, which should have already been fixed somewhat by giving work and buses to Chicago before this current swapocalypse even began. Kedzie now has been down buses to the point of needing loans. Same apparently for 74th earlier today. Now as for the 8200s, when FG gets beyond the current training scenario, we should see them well enough. That takes a bit more patience on our parts.

That's why the sequential fleet will be so hard to maintain. When picks change like this summer there is going to be a shift of buses and how then do you keep them sequential when you have like np gaining buses or chicago and places like 74th losing buses.

That's why so many of us were saying that if they were going to go back to sequential blocks, why didn't they go back to at least two sequential blocks per garage like was done when the 1000s first came to the CTA. And TSP at NP and 74th is going to limit any trades at those even further.

Damn I got to see this!! xD No longitudinal bus has ever ran out of FG!! o.O

Now that's interesting.

Well, it is a NP bus, and NP helps with some of the FG routes like #152 during school/Cubs trippers(though I don't ride #91 at all..... school tripper???). Late night, I've seen some NP moves running east on Addison and turning north onto Kedzie(the one I saw yesterday was #1383). Where they're coming from as late as 12a, I don't know.

Taft HS trips are shown on the schedule.

Otherwise, probably just a loaner.

FG uses its own buses on the Taft School trippers which as Busjack notes are shown on the schedule. So this is a loan from NP.

Cub game trippers run that late. When the tripper is done the  NP bus turns North towards the garage.
