That's part of how FG became all 6400s for a long time until the 8350s came. It led to some claims of the south side getting favoritism vs the NW side Quote

I was wondering why did 77th get rid of all of its 6400s in for of 1000s up north in March of 2014 before the 7900s arrived. Quote

Because for some odd reason CTA decided to make FG all 6400s and trade it's Flyers out in exchange. I guess the artics being at 77th meant that they didn't have as many 6400s when those moves happened so it ended up an all New Flyer garage for a while Quote

Historically speaking, it's not that CTA wanted to make FG all 6400s, but that 77th wears out its buses and dumps them elsewhere, such as 7400s to NP for 9600s,4400s to103 for 5300s, etc. Quote

Remember after Archer closed FG still had some New Flyers. But after the Dan Ryan reconstruction we had debates on here on why FG ended up getting all 6400s while other garages got newer equipment. I agree that 77th wears down its equipment which is why I argued that they and other garages dumped them to FG during that time Quote

All loans for the time being but they may end up being permanent. A lot of #8000s have started migrated to C,K and 103rd. 77th somehow got #1027 and #1100 last night. FG got sent some loaners as well. #1532 is one I can remember. Quote

I thought they’d be short on buses in general with their 1000s & 7900s popping up at other garages. But from the looks of that they went from around 130 7900s to just 97 I guess they were tired of the abuse. Quote

But maybe that 'is unreliable (as I previously suspected),since it still accounts for 1030 1000s, although a mess (probably 300-400) are on LTH. I'm not going to go through all of the "last seen" dates to see which ones may be still around. For that matter, it still tracks 23 of the 600s. Maybe there are 15. . Quote
YoungBusLover Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 With the recent events in regards to maintenance at 74th, FG lost there head of maintenance to 74th to fix the issues they have going down there with OOS equipment. Now I'm just like you when it comes to the amount of Flyers they've received over #8350s. I can see why the constant breakdowns of #8000s have finally gotten the boot after being there since they entered service. 77th in return has taken on getting rid of there flyers to meet that 75 - 100 mark threshold I've been alluding to for the past couple of years that 103rd, K and now NP has also done. Now it's just a matter of getting thing running smoothly again at 74th as far as keeping equipment running. I'm sure by next spring there will be another shift but hopefully this time it will be #7900s & #8350s getting spread out evenly throughout the system. 1 Quote
