Busjack
Might as well throw in my shot of it too. cta 7969 rear on 52A.PNG Is anyone going to sell a home to someone who can't even print a sign?

BusHunter
#7973 is on the #2 sb. #7993 is on the #1. #7993 had this sign still taped to the front door that said it was OK to send to 77th. Must have been from South Shops that sign. It had blanks for the bus number to fill in and Ok to send to blank. Both were filled in with black marker. So damn, if a sign were to show up (with a little help) that said it was OK to send to FG, a #7900 would go there. Now that would be OK LOL!! That might be the only way they get some new buses!! Now where's my black marker.... Just joking BTW. I tried to take some pictures of it but they really didn't come out that well. I need to go shopping for a digital camera standalone!! sw4400
#7913 #7921 #7922 #7939 and #7946 have arrived. Looks like the holes are starting to get plugged more and more now. Once most of the 7900-block are here, then 8000+ will start to show up. I'd say Jan-Feb 2015 for 8000+
ajm522
I am dreading the day that this will become the normal (all 7900 with no NF). I hope 77th doesn't get all 300. I remember when it was mainly 6400 it was a miserable commute.

I remember when it was mainly 6400 it was a miserable commute. Especially since the 2015 budget indicates that all 450 Novas will eventually be purchased, I don't think that's likely (given your screen shot that most of 4 already is 7900s). Besides that, what makes you think a 2014 bus is the same as a 2001 one, except maybe that 77th may not maintain the buses as it should for the amount of mileage it has? Would you rather they have overworked 1000s?

Would you rather they have overworked 1000s? Well being a New Flyer guy, I'd say no I wouldn't have wanted them overworking 1000s. As for 77th not maintaining it's buses as they should, well let's just say there are buses that got returned to garages where they were assigned before 77th grabbed them earlier this year that looked more beat up compared to when they went to 77th. And that's saying something given South Shop, CTA's main bus heavy maintenance facility is right there on the same grounds as 77th Garage itself. But yeah, it's likely safe to say that 77th is not going to be all 7900s.
BusHunter
Here's some shots of CTA's newest Nova in service #7977: Here's some shots of #7979: Get out the steamer. Looks like someone went 10-200 in one of the handicapped seats in #7977. I'm thinking yeah but this is the first day of service. I can't believe it's already christened. I was definitely not going to sit there!! First time i saw that!!
jajuan
Ajm522's screen save shows us that 77th is using them more consistently on other routes now outside of the 1, 2, 8 and 52A.

sw4400
Getting closer to the end of the 7900-block... To be delivered from NovaBus: 7902,7905,7911,7912,7916,7918,7930,7943,7948,7949,7950,7951,7953,7967,7976,7993, 7994,7998 (19 Buses to be delivered) Delivered from NovaBus, awaiting first assignment: 7929,7933,7936,7938,7942,7945,7946,7952,7957,7996,7997,7999 (12 Buses on CTA Property awaiting assignment) (31 Buses in the 7900-block total remaining) Given two major holidays in the next two months(Thanksgiving & Christmas), no doubt NovaBus will shut down building and deliveries of buses for a week or two near the holidays so workers can spend time with loved ones. So all the remaining to be delivered(in gray) will probably be delivered throughout November and December sans Holiday breaks, and the 8000-block will begin to be built and delivered after January 1, 2015 with the 8000-block and 8100-block being completed near the end of 2015. The option for the 150, if exercised(still pending at this post) will no doubt be built and delivered in 2016.
