Plus all the rusted NFs they had so that covers their net loss of 1000s & 7900s. It’s interesting to see if 6 would swap out its high mileage 7900s for 8350s somewhere like 7 did.

How about we see if 6 gets more 8350s to replace some 1000s assigned there before a trade for 7900s comes into the picture. Remember the number of 1000s systemwide is supposed to drop down to about 430 at most, and the last count was still close to 750 or so, though it probably dropped closer to 700 since that count. And it's pretty safe to say North Park ain't getting stacked with 8350s to the point that beefing up garages with low 8350s counts isn't in the realm of possibility. The primary goal of getting 8350s is to replace D40LFs and not really to cover 7900s all that much. Lower mileage 7900s can be traded for those higher mileage ones.

There has been mention of how long it takes between when a bus shows up at South Shops and it goes into service. Back in the days of propane Flxibles, the normal procedure was it arrived Tuesday, got signs and fare box and a "license applied for" tag and goes to garage Wednesday and out on a run Thursday. The fact it made it from Loudonville to Chicago was seen as proof it was fit for service. An era when things were simpler and less prone to "bugs".

Yeah, but in those days, buses didn't include fareboxes (most just had a shelf where you laid your token), electronic signs (they just grabbed a roll sign off some other bus), farecard readers, gps, radios, emergency alarms, cameras, cell phone hotspots, powered rear doors, collision avoidance systems, wheelchair ramps, and electronic engine control.They also didn't have emission controls, although maybe propane buses didn't need them. CTA also probably had an adequate number of mechanics @ $6/hour.

Depends on your definition of "still missing." Although you mention 8765 at SS, a combination of personal observation in NP territory and trackers indicates that fleet numbers up to 8824 are in service. I'm not keeping tallies, though.

Rephrased. the question is how many are still pending delivery from the factory, considering that the highest vehicle number has been delivered?

Here's the remaining list of #8350s at SS along with the remaining batch that have yet to be delivered embolden in black below. There is a total of 13 left that haven't been delivered yet. Once they arrive that will conclude the delivery process.
