And the next garage to get New Flyers is...

1324 [is]in service on the 146. Looks like NP still hasn't returned Chicago's and 77th's buses that it borrowed yet even though the O'Hare shuttle service is over. It'll probably happen though over the weekend since the shuttle service did end four days early.
Apparently it happened over the weekend, but to 74th. See the Bustracker thread.

#1780 was on the X28 yesterday. I also spotted #1774 on the #29.

I spoatted 1759 NB on the 3 King Druve approximately 10:30 p.m., albeit with an X3 King Drive Express sign.

I just saw 1777 northbound on Dearborn 2 minutes ago.

IIRC this would be a NP bus either a 22 or a 36 [i'm up on the 33rd floor].

I'm adding up all these quotes to say, which'll probably be pointless to say, but just to put it out here, but I photos of #1762 and #1772 on my website.

No it went to North Pole Garage! :)

 I'm pretty sure it did.

OFF TOPIC: Question, what does the "IIRC" mean or stand for? I'm still learning some of the blog shorthand. I'm also probably about the only person left in my age group who doesn't send or receive text messages. I just dislike cellphones honestly.

Now back to the theme here, I hope for the sake of CTA there isn't some major problem waiting to be discovered with New Flyer buses 4 - 5 years from now :D While I understand there could be cost savings with just maintaining one or two types of buses, I would be a little nervous putting all the eggs in one basket.

Don't worry, you're not alone, I still don't either .

Me either, otherwise that wouldn't be good. And if that happens in only four to five years from now, that would not be good at all.

i saw 1793 going to its new home north park tuesday.

Wow. We're up to just about #1800 now. If the NF buses continue to come in at this pace, the Flxibles (5300s) and the TMCs will be gone before Thanksgiving.

Hey guys, its seems 1731-1759 are running out of 77th where as 1306-1329 are running out of 74th. Whats going on? Who will get the first set of the 60ft LF artics? Either it will be 77th or 103rd, since the both have the least number of artics 25 and 50 respectively. Im sure some shuffling will happen, again.

Not all of 74th's 1700s went to 77th. 1739 is on the X9 today. Also 1731 is on the 9 and 1741 is on the 44. Basically the upper 1740s and a number of the 1750s are at 77th. In general it was the 1700s that kept having Clever Devices issues and weren't showing up properly on Bustracker that went to 77th.

You can't necessarily base any assumptions about where the DE60LFs are going to go on the number of arctics assigned at any garage that has them. It's an equal chance that either one of Kedzie, Chicago, 77th, and 103rd that could be first because each one has a BRT test route. The fact that 66 Chicago is among the four test routes shows that the DE60LFs are not meant to go to a garage just because it has NABIs.

Most likely, the 600s will not be sent to any of the four garages without NABIs right away, since the BRT routes won't start until next year. But even then, the 66 could be moved to Kedzie, since the CTA is trying to consolidate each series at as few garages as possible.

Possible. Another thing to consider though is that their original intent before the BRT announcement was to help alleviate the pressure on some of the busiest of routes that do not serve Lake Shore Drive. So that still does not automatically translate to garages that have arctics in place right now. As for the 66, just because it is designated for BRT does not mean it's going to be moved to Kedzie since Kedzie has artics. There are other busy routes at Chicago besides that has numerous crowded buses as well as a bunching problem. The 72 North Ave comes to mind right off the bat. 76 Diversey is also a pretty busy route at times, especially as you get closer to Sheridan and the lakefront area on that route. Your last statement about consolidation doesn't jibe with your assertion that the DE60LFs will like go to the garages that have artics right away. If the consolidation plan goes further into effect, why would CTA management steer the artic hybrids to the NABI garages right away outside of the talked about work on the some of the NABIs? If that's part of your argument I'll agree with you. If not, I still say it can equally be one of the four garages with the BRT test routes with no consideration of where the NABIs are and their numbers. There are enough artic heavy routes at the NABI garages for the moment while there are highly traveled routes elsewhere that could used some help.
