Alright. 4039 from Kedzie still had the old farebox like three weeks ago.

jajuan
Not really a move, but the particular bus deployment in question is traditionally unusual for the following route. I've noticed over the last several weeks that Kedzie has been rolling artics out on 126 weekday runs to the degree that route is now regularly half to slightly majority artic operated on weekdays. I had the the thought that perhaps three Westside CPS high schools sitting at or near Jackson Blvd played into this in some way. But this deployment pattern has been in play from morning to well into the evening. So, I'm wondering if something else has gone into this current assignment pattern. I'm currently looking into that myself but from I've been able to observe over the past several weeks it may have something to do with overall proximity of the artics in relation to the garage. Now the 126 isn't a short route by any means. However, with the #4000s being at the age they're at currently one could argue to limit them to local routes that run fairly close to the garage since they're predominantly used on LSD runs outside of the 21/82. Cutting down on the wear and tear seems smart to put them out there for the tike being.

I thought it was strange but based on what you said, it may have been running the 7 or 126. I wouldn't think either route would be artic worthy but if K is short of 40 ft buses, why not run the artics rather than have them sit in the garage? The 12 also has a mix of 40 fr and 60 ft buses. 1
Erin Mishkin Jr.
77th is slowly getting back their upper 7900's from Forest Glen. 7986, 7990, and 7995 have returned at 77th. Also, 1206 is at 103rd, in trade for 1141 at 77th. 4202 is in service at North Park without a working tracker

If you talking about the 2008 model buses i don’t think they moving because those buses are slowly fading away of retirement now as for the 2006 model buses they may stay due to new fareboxes but we’ll shall see

If that's the case I hope it is a majority of the 3rd/4th options that get the boot first. However, I have heard rumblings about the #1100s being a bit problematic as of late up there. NP needs to keep whatever 1000s they retain on 11, 96 and the burbs if they want to avoid too many issues with maintenance lol

jtrussel
So now things have changed. At first 400 1000 series NF was going to get life extended overhaul. Now according to this budget plan it's up in the air especially if it don't make financial sense. If they pass on overhauling the 1000s how long can they stay in service might as well start taking photos while you can
YoungBusLover
#1459 has popped up at 77th, while #1285 and #1311 has popped up at 74th. 74th is next in line for farebox installment.

Maybe not a tmc treatment. But maybe some sort of crackdown on keeping mileage low on the older buses such as only pulling them out for rush hours and short gentle routes at that.

Notice it reads, "The base order buses were delivered in 2022. The first 170 of the option buses were delivered in 2023, another 250 expected in 2024, and the remaining 80 buses in 2025." I am unsure if I am getting this correct.🤔
