jajuan
I really doubt that any "President" is micromanaging to this level. That's why there are Executive Vice Presidents, Garage Superintendents, and the like. One could argue that Claypool probably doesn't do anything for his $215K salary, as everything is "under the leadership of Mayor Rahm Emanuel," and he is either saying that he doesn't listen to anyone other than consultants, or sends out the flacks to explain stuff. But I guess that someone has to stand behind Fearless Leader at press events. Claypool wouldn't know the difference between a 1900 and a 4300 even if one hit him. Alright guys, before the discussion on the Claypool factor gets too deep, let me just say that part was a joke on my part playing Claypool's ineptitude with doing his job against the ineptitude of doing all these ridiculous moves that have no logic or apparent reason across most of the system. Most of the unrehabbed buses go to the north side, Fg even loses #6800's for older #6600's The south side gets the newest Novas #6800's, the newest new Novas #7900's and now the #8000's??? Most of the unrehabbed #1000 buses except 100, all accessible rail stations and soon all new railcars. Damn I need to move to the south side!! At this rate, 103rd might have a real good shot for the #8100's!! LOL!!

At this rate, 103rd might have a real good shot for the #8100's!! LOL!! Despite all that that may have popped to mind for you, the fact of the matter is 74th still has 6400 series "First Gen" Novas on its roster whether they're in the 6600s or the 6800s range. And despite the swap of some 6600s for 6800s, it does still have both 6400s and 6600s left. And all the NF 1000s are going to be rehabbed eventually regardless of what happens with the unrehabbed ones in the short term. And don't forget that many of us thought that 77th purging itself of all 6400 series Novas it had took it out the running for 7900s, and we see where that scenario went. So as it was stated it looks like 8000 and 8002 at 74th is news. Your thoughts though do point to how I and the rest of us have said that all this bus movement between garages is just plain stupid. Andre's report though also kind of confirms my suspicion that 6400 series part of these swaps signaled that they may have been ready to move to their next planned garage for deliveries.
BusHunter
Yeah but why send 74th all the new equipment. What is Chicago Kedzie and NP supposed to do when it comes time to massively rehab what's left. If they would have went to chicago next they could have rehabbed 20 buses at a time out of that garage and just fed them kedzie buses. 74th has extra equipment now they really don't need. Chicago still has the majority of low #6400's. 74th has like 15. Well when they don't have buses for service they know where to send the loan application Lol!! Looks to me like 74th is going to be loans incorporated this spring.

The only new development, other than Andre getting the list, was that most folks here said C next.

Hence, they finally made good, but 11 months later. The only new development, other than Andre getting the list, was that most folks here said C next. I updated the roster on here but I'm holding out on a few buses that I find suspicious. For instance, #1196 is on the #9 not at NP, #1746 is at 103rd not np. #1854, #1863, #1864, #1338, #1724 I'm also keeping tabs on and can't really say for certain if the roster is totally correct. I also found #6616 missing off the roster so I assumed it got sent to south shops. As it stands 74th is at 275 and before it was at 259 so it's in surplus territory by 15 buses and it's most likely getting 4 more #8000's this week and 5 the next. I got #1105 and #1542 on #77, #1574 on #78. #1273 on #80, #1561 on #84, and #1109 on #85!!! Mr.cta85
I don't understand why FG don't have any NF why would they just give that garage all Novas and no NF. It has to be a method o the madness lol I really hope it does anyway cause its really not fair for whoever's in charge to do FG like that unless they take really goo care of their buses over there I really dont understand it. Now me personally I wouldn't mind at all cause I like the Novas but they're all old buses now and I'm assuming they may have a lot of breakdowns or maybe they don't. No I think this time Fg is going to get some NF's. That's too many to be loans. Besides FG is not short with 254 buses not counting #1201 and #1250 when they had them. That would help explain why they are getting the worst Novas. Maybe by this weekend they will get more NF's. What do ya know. FG actually has it's first rehabbed bus in at least a year!! BusHunter
#6683 is on the #152. They should be sending buses from 74th. They are the garage with the surplus. Maybe they don't want to send them #1000's though from 74th. Looks like they are just putting the finishing touches on 77th now they they have their complete fleet of #7900's. I would wonder if 77th's short with 270 something buses. 280 seemed to be what was consistent there.

I was checking what I had for past rosters at FG. They still had NF's last year for the winter pick '13, but had lost all NFs by the spring pick '14, so it's pretty close to year with just novas. sw4400
Well bless FG's lucky stars! Are they finally getting some new equipment? 1105,1109,1273,1542,1561,1574 It's only six, but is this just temporary? I can see whatever comes to FG getting transferred to 74th for some 6400's and/or 6500's, whatever remains of the 6600's, or to send back some 6800's. We've been down this road before, when FG has some late 1000's, late 1100's and a mix of 1200's only to see them get shipped to 77th for the Novas there. This would be the equivalent of a Cubs-Yankees-Dodgers trade. Dodgers send Matt Kemp to the Cubs temporarily so he may be sent to the Yankees so the Cubs can get three Minor Leaguers. FG gets 1105,1109,1273,1542,1561 and 1574 from 77th to send them to 74th for 6400-6401,6403,6405-6407, for example. A three-way garage trade.
