ChicagoNova
NF #4102 must've transferred to North Park cause yesterday I spotted it on one of North Park's routes & today I spotted it on #146.
Sam92
NF #4102 must've transferred to North Park cause yesterday I spotted it on one of North Park's routes & today I spotted it on #146. Beat you to it earlier in a post . The question remains.... Why didn't 103rd send its highest numbers like usual? That broke the pattern leaving 103rd with 4058-4101 and then 4105-4106. Anyone care to shed some light as to why the summer trade is so different this time?
ChicagoNova
I spotted NP's NF #1409 on #2 Hyde Park Express. The Garage Code read "K" on the digital run number sign.
Sam92
Spotted #1143 on the 1 Indiana Hyde Park. Is 77th running low on buses? . Also I looked in on the D40LF forum, and apparently 77th now has !528 and 1529?
jajuan
Spotted #1143 on the 1 Indiana Hyde Park. Is 77th running low on buses? . Also I looked in on the D40LF forum, and apparently 77th now has !528 and 1529? Or could it be 77th was doing what it has a history of doing in sending out an available bus from the South Shops as a replacement or spare before sending that bus back to its current home garage? The 1409 sighting on the 2 mentioned immediately before your post is an odd one not just from it being a North Park bus but also the Kedzie run number with the 2 being a 77th route. I've seen it in the other forum but I think it may be a mistake Well I can tell you 1528 is not because I rode it on the 49 last night and it was on the 9 in this morning's rush. So it's doubtful that 1529 is reassigned either. As I stated, the sightings of those two and 1143 for that matter on 77th routes were very likely 77th borrowing what was on hand at the South Shops to do a few runs. This is something it has a history of doing.

Along with riding 1528 on the 49 last week as well as doing moring rush service on the 9 the following morning, 1528 was doing night owl service on the 49 last night. jajuan
Spotted #1528 on the 14/15 Jeffery Express/Locals earlier today Could be a loan from 74th as well as the 74th Novas spotted. 103rd has been noted as running into shortages of operable 40 foot buses which perplexes me given all 40 footers there have been 1000s. ArcherRider
Maybe Kedzie is short on bus because I saw 74th Street #1156 on #126 and #1154 on the #10 this morning.
RJL6000
Guess what? Kedzie has many of the 1150s down to #1152. And 74th lost #1085-1087 to Chicago. #1150 is still 74th. These newer assignments for some of the 74th NFs could be due to the fact that both Chicago and Kedzie need extra buses for service to downtown and the lakefront for the forthcoming Fourth of July and the Taste of Chicago events. By contrast, 74th operates only one of its routes (#62, which is shared with Kedzie) downtown on a regular basis (not counting the rush-hour-only shuttle routes). Which explains why I saw 1152 on the 82 yesterday morning and 1159 on the 12 last night. Don't know that three buses to Chicago puts much of a dent in Chicago needing buses for downtown. I also happened to see 6708 on the 77. I thought that one was at NP.

Actually, #6708 has been at FG since Archer closed down. It was loaned to NP for a month or so in mid-2010.

Thanks for the clear up. I was thinking that all of FG's green signed Novas were 6500s formerly at Archer and all the 6700s were only the amber signed ones. jajuan
Spotted 103rd's 1794 on #49 Western at Western and Fullerton this afternoon. A NP run (which would make more sense with NP having a number of odd and even 1700s up to 1793 already) or a 74th run?

Probably an NP run, because today I saw 1798 on 155 Devon.
RJL6000
Probably an NP run, because today I saw 1798 on 155 Devon. So, NP's 1700s now end at #1798 (#1794, #1796 and #1798 were transferred from 103rd). K's 1100s now start at #1152 instead of #1160. And C's 1000s now end at #1087 instead of #1084. Or put it this way, at least for this summer: 103rd: 1000-1037, 1248-1253, 1480, 1481, 1482, 1483-1527, 1598-1600, 1602, 1604, 1605-1613 (odds), 1799-1849 74th: 1092-1151, 1528-1584, 1721-1757 77th: 1270-1302, 1930-1963, 1965-1977 (odds) C: 1038-1087, 1091, 1323-1344, 1430-1479, 1585-1591, 1856-1926 (evens), 1927-1929, 1972-1978 (evens), 1979-2029 FG: 1088-1090, 1189-1199, 1202, 1203, 1205-1209 (odds), 1214, 1215, 1218-1222, 1224, 1226-1247, 1254-1269 K: 1152-1188, 1200, 1201, 1204-1210 (evens), 1211-1213, 1216, 1217, 1223, 1225, 1345-1374, 1592-1597, 1601, 1603, 1606-1614 (evens), 1615-1720 NP: 1303-1322, 1375-1429, 1758-1798, 1850-1855, 1857-1925 (odds), 1964-1970 (evens) Edited June 25, 2012 by RJL6000
