Takes time to warm them up. I have that problem too. In the summer your dying of heat and in the winter it's like an ice box. By me though they will run the buses a couple hours when it gets below freezing in the stalls. They have someone come in who starts all the buses cause the old buses just refuse to run sometimes. Sometimes they just start the old buses when it's real cold they all get run. The mechanics all come out and spray ether in the refuse to start buses. North side ain't that bad, theres more riders on the south side. Saw some 74th buses pulling in from the north end of the #94. Saw one going down the kennedy and another on Cali. I wonder why they just dont run them through. The south terminal is the garage. That's a long pullout/in.

With all those buses its a wonder you dont get carbon monoxide poisoning. I know they probably have fans but alot of buses running probably beats what the fans can do. Shannoncvpi
All of the ones in the first few rows in the front a run they ones in the back a be off but it not as cold in the garage as it is outside of the ones that sit outside of the garage they will turn on & have them running & they let the doors up & down when its real cold to keep the heat in the garage
BusHunter
I know even in my garage when you walk the rows in the winter you can smell the exhaust fumes. It's pretty thick and I'm outside.

YoungBusLover
So I did some snooping tonight and didnt find much except these following bus numbers that have been inactive or involved in accidents this past fall. There is also a #4000 back there with heavy front end damage I tried getting the number through the fence and the best I could make from it was #408*. I'm going to check that out later on this week becuase that bus was recently added last week. More #6400s are gone now as I expected. The yard is starting to look a lot more barren again the old relics of the 800s/900s are more visible now with the novas getting hauled off. #804 is hiding among them. (Deadlot) #4010,#4031,#4037,#4038,#4039,#4042,#4082 #1775 (Accident) #1967? #1434 (Accident ) #4328 (Mechanical), #8108 (Mechanical)

YoungBusLover
It took me about an hour to canvas the area thoroughly but here is the updated list of the boneyard. I was going to consider adding in the high floor models but seeing as there is already a list for them I didnt add them in. Notably #6029 was the first fresh moves bus and was retired in between late 2013 and early 2014. #4687 is the only TMC left back there besides the #4900s and #5454 along #5696 are the last remaining Metro Bs. The remaining #6000s range from #6031 all the way to #6227. I was kind of surprised to see #1805 back there after all these years, apparently it was on LTH for the longest and it appears that it was gutted of the engine for parts before getting placed back there. It's kind of sad to see but that's how the ball rolls sometime. #500's Boneyard (Retired) list as of 12/20/20 #542 & #544 #800's Boneyard (Retired) list as of 12/20/20 #800,#802,#803,#804,#805,#807,#808,#809 #900's Boneyard (Retired) list as of 12/20/20 #905 #6400's Boneyard (Retired) list as of 12/20/20 - Bus numbers highlighted in bold text have been hauled off for scrap.Bus numbers highlighted in bold italic text are still in service or somewhere around SS. #6401,#6406,#6408,#6418,#6425,#6432,#6435,#6446,#6453,#6456,#6460,#6468,#6473,#6497,#6500,#6502,#6503,#6516,#6530,#6537,#6544,#6554,#6559,#6563,#6564,#6573,#6574,#6576,#6577,#6581,#6584,#6614,#6621,#6628,#6639,#6642,#6644,#6651,#6674,#6680,#6692,#6699,#6702,#6704,#6711,#6715,#6737?,#6742?,#6748?,#6756,#6778?,#6782?,#6804,#6806,#6808,#6819,#6824,#6832(Accident/Legal hold),#6841,#6842,#6844,#6845,#6848,#6863,#6866,#6868?.
