I'll give you guys the rundown of what is going on here,#4175 is one of several artics that have had seized engines in the past but have returned to service several months later however #4175 has been there for a long long time so only time will tell on whether or not it will get worked on. #1245,#1321,#1434,#1457,#1556,#1760 have been back there, notably #1245 is retired, #1321 is on LTH,#1434 is on Legal Hold,#1457,#1556 and #1760 are back there for what I can assume is maintenance,#1925 is most likely done as well . #4082 could always get repaired or become like #4119 & #4167 time will tell on that bus, The accident occurred last month I believe which surprised me to say the least. #4357 hasn't been moved since it was parked there since at least the mid summer of 2020, I haven't gone inside a lot of the defunct buses but have merely observed them from the outside.

@YoungBusLover is it true that SS will drain the oil & trans fluid out of buses they retire & park em in the yard leave them running till the motor lock up I heard it a few times just never seen them do it

I’m not sure about letting the engine lock up but I remember in the 2010 cuts when they were set in stone with no funding relief, flxibles at Archer were  drained because the scrap guys require it be done before scrapping for one and two if the cuts were reversed they would have needed the fluids drained and replaced to get all the gunk out and give fresh oils and all that for return to service.

I'm not sure to be honest, I would only assume that when a bus is due for retirement, everything as far fluids would be drained, lines cut and essential components such as fareboxes, bike racks and other things would get salvaged before a power unit or slug I should say pushes the bus via a helper to its final resting spot. The same rules apply for buses with wreck damage that are deamed unoperable only difference being they would get towed back there. Prime examples would be #804,#1245,#1805, and #1821. #1805 was literally gutted for its enegine and other key parts before getting retired.
