Mr.cta85
The rehashed 3200's look great I still have yet to ride 1 since then but I'll try to get a ride in sooner than later. But this is also random but as a life long cta fan I love to see the 2600's coupled with the 3200's they just look so good together. Especially when you have 4 of the same belly cars and the other 4 are the leading and trailing cars I love to see that combination. And it's rare now days to see that the Orange Line and ocsssional Brownage trip is the only place where you'll see that. Once the 2600's are all retired we probably will never see that again since the 7000s won't be able to couple with the 5000s ? lol.
BusHunter
kind of weird the #3200's are still rehabbing and the #7000's are slated to arrive in 2 years. It will take some time to polish off 400 #2600's though and if you figure the older #3200 rehabs retire first then possibly they could get 6-8 years out of them (figuring from today) But I wonder how is the factory coming? 4 months of construction so far..... Also, it is not clear that CTA will need 656 or 746 (depending on whether an option for 90 was exercised) to replace the 3200s. Nonetheless, this contract appears to be 10 years after the last one. Considering that the 5000s contract ended in mid-2015, you are probably looking at mid-2025. So, the 8 years out is about right. Whether putting about $900K/car into the 3200s is worth it has been questioned before.

BusHunter
Looks like #3371-72 might be a full rehab. It has an updated underbody on it.

Looking at the zoomup, it does have LED run number signs so it is rehabbed.

BusHunter
If you guys are interested what #3200's were at Skokie shops last weekend, a friend of mine who went has some pictures. Here a shot of #3321-22. Red tagged for no working ATC. Don't expect to see it too soon. And #3334 from last week. Would be nice if they painted the ends. Seems like they do but it's something they do at Kimball yard.

chgofan78
Spotted a fully rehabbed 3437-3438 and 3393-3394 on the Brown Line today.
richii0909
Would of been nice if they could of updated or excluded the flashing part of the Electronic sign box for express. It looks silly when the brown line expresses and inside is blinking express. Also, any reason why some have digital sign boxes and no rehab. The flashing seems to be a requirement for the perceptually impaired. Might not be implemented properly in this application. The destination signs was a separate contract issued before the rehab started, discussed here. Similarly, the run number signs was a separate contract long after the rehabs commenced. Unlike most bus rehabs, this was not a turnkey job, but Skokie Shops doing the work as parts became available. The destination signs were supposed to be essentially plug and play. Any word if these rehabs will be done in 2020? I heard if all options are picked up with 7000 series these would go bye bye. I would hat to see these go as I prefer the seating arrangements vs redline. Also I love the cab seating for a more private experience.. just my two cents
