That's at least the second time you've caught a blue light in your shots! Whatever's behind 5504 is cookin' down there

This time, it's quite the opposite because I didn't smell anything except the construction down there.

I was also told that #5517-18 and #5519-20 are at Skokie Shops. I wonder if maybe we missed some going into service, that would make 14 cars at Skokie Shops and that seems high to me, I know it was 10 last week so most likely those four just came in over the weekend.

Last Saturday there were at LEAST 7 pairs of 5500's sitting at Skokie, including two not yet coupled.

That's going to be very interesting to keep an eye on. B)

I believe I saw #5493-94 on the purple line too yesterday. I'm starting to suspect the #5490's are now on the purple line.

Considering that the operator's panel on a 5000 includes diagnostics, one hopes that the operator knows what the problem is.

My wife saw three cta cars on flatbed trucks moving north on Route 83 at Oak Brook around 6:45am this morning. She could only get the number of the last car. It was 5523.

That's probably today's delivery #5521-24. That would make 18 cars at Skokie Shops. They are ripe for a release to the red or purple line but the purple line doesn't have much more to lose. They should be pushing towards 75 percent #5000's with the new ones (#5493-94, #5497-#5500) I saw the other day. #5497-98 is unconfirmed though but they get cars in sixes so it's a reasonable assumption.

What do you mean by "unconfirmed?" Are they not assigned to a specific line yet? I just rode 5497 not one hour ago on the red line.

You answered the question I had thanks!! No the #5490's have been seen on the purple line this week making it appear they are assigned there. The unconfirmed part is whether #5497-98 was still on the Red line or not.

Shots of #5501-02 with a Puma Ad wrap.

So that's what the ad wrap was advertising when I mentioned my sighting of 5501-5502 a few weeks ago. It was for Puma. I couldn't see the words I was seated on the right side of that Purple Line train I was on as it passed to the right of that Red Line consist those cars were part of at the time. All I could make out was the athlete as we were passing that train.
