Was it during the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday or afterwards during this current work week? Depending on the detour and the area to make stops we're required to make announcements and use our best just when boarding sn alighted customers along said Detour.

Thank you for your reply.  Nothing to do with the Marathon, it was in a completely different section of the city on Wednesday.  There was a car crash and shooting along the original bus route during the night.  The police were still investigating in the morning.

Gotcha, the bus operator should of said something to everyone about the sudden change in service due to an accident/active crime scence and at the very least should have accommodated you with a courtesy stop. It doesn't take much to curb the bus and alight you. 😁

Thanks for your reply.  That sounds like a sensible policy.   I wondered if the operator would have risked being fired for letting me off the bus.

Right! I tell them that when it comes to bus fare. You don’t like paying bus fare or think you better than everyone else and don’t need to pay…you can either  pay, try to pay or catch next bus or ride.

Being on the outside, I can't comment on what the rules are, but with the 2025 Budget Overview saying CTA is losing $4.67 per trip, showing a need for more public funding,  its interest is in other than collecting fares.

Ahh I hope so. Anytime we have meetings at the garage it’s always about security and not having enough buses on the streets. CTA be promising changes with things, but takes forever to make it happen. Especially Dorval Carter.

when I get on some cta  buses, it amazes me how dirty a lot of buses be sometimes or every now and then be shockingly clean. Riders should start reporting dirty buses more often or scan the new QR code especially with them dusty, dirty seats they don’t sanitize at all. Y’all agree or no?

I’ve been seeing duplicated farebox numbers on buses with the new fareboxes over the system.

yesterday, I saw 4202 and 1893, and they both had the same number on the farebox. That’s one of the many examples around the system with two buses having the same number sticker on the farebox. Eventually they’ll give the buses new stickers and take the duplicated ones off.

Error No stops between Columbus/11th and Stony Island/57th (AM) and Lake Park/47th (PM)

By this, I take it that should be no stops 11th to 47th at all times. I think someone got it confused with 2, which loops in different directions.

It looks like the route map is for the 6 Jackson Park Express, but the express zone description is for the 2 Hyde Park Express.   Therefore the description should read No Stops between 11th/Columbus and 47th and Lake Park.

You missed the other mistakes:  "Metra Rock Island Millennium Station" & "Metra Rock island Van Buren St. Station"

Plus that is the express zone for the #6, although it's a year since I rode one.

I didn't miss the Metra Rock Island mistake.   I didn't mention it because it had already been pointed out.   I just clarified the express zone error.  The 11th/Columbus to 57th/ Stony Island ( a.m ) and 47th/Lake Park (p.m.) is specific to the 2 Hyde Park Express.   The 6 also has an express zone between 11th/Columbus and 47th/Lake Park,  but that's during ALL hours of operation.   The time specifications onn the sign indicates that they mixed up the 2's express zone verbiage on the 6 's sign as the route map clearly indicates the route of the 6.

It also looks like people don't read posts above theirs. That seems a common affliction here lately.
