Here's a Picture of 8629 on the 52 and 8633 on the 12, I hope other of 8500s and 8600s will hit service early or late and 8650-8749 will join to SS in 2023 or 2024.

You would of been better of just sharing the Flickr link rather than just doing a bad crop out of the photos.

Yes especially the 1630-2029 range, they’ve met their 12-year warranty as far as the carbon frames rusting sending many of them on their way out possibly as they can’t be fixed. These lower #1000s between #1000-1629 have been beaten to the ground over the years but they hold up better than their younger relatives.

How many 1630-2029 1000-Series buses have been retired due to rust?

8630 on the 82 (the picture was taken today (November 11th, 2023)). Today, Kedzie is running mostly Novas on the 82 (7900s and 8350s), with a few New Flyers.

Crazy ever since we got the 8260-8272, 8274-8275, 8277-8279, 8281-8287, 8289-8299, 8301-8324 batches I have been noticing too how it’s been on the 82 there would be one day we get almost full nova with few D40s and then more D40s and few novas, it’s kinda odd seeing how much Kedzie has changed ever since we got the Novas from F and 3 and now with the 86s coming in! it’s gonna make a difference now

Also interesting is that 82 was running artics, so this seems to be another route where they are being phased out.

About ten years Kedzie ran artics on the 82 on 3 or 4 weekends in a row than stopped. I know this is hear say but a few drivers told me that Lincoln Town Center (the north terminal) did not want them there.

Of course. ???? I don't know what is about Malls not wanting buses let alone Artics laying over on the property.

I remember the days we’ve had the 800s and 900s back from 2006-07!!! 1000s still to this day. Basically Kedzie has had every series of buses between 1991- until now including the 6400s except the 4300s.

That came up  with Yorktown, which complained that buses were tearing up the parking lot, and restricted them to one stop on a concrete pad.

Actually that's not correct. Kedzie did have 4300s for a while but they got split between 103rd and NP when CTA made the decision that the 4300s would only be at those two. What hybrids K had went to 103rd and the diesels went to NP. Bringing this back to the topic of 8350s, given the 82 would often be heavily operated with K assigned option 3 and 4 NFs, which systemwide have been getting sidelined at a higher rate than expected, it's not too much of a surprise that 8350s and the 7900s heavily operate the route on some days. More often than not, when the 82 is showing more Novas in service, it's during off peak times. Rush periods and early parts of the evening on weekdays, I still notice at minimum an even split. Overall Kedzie operates on an even split between the NFs and Novas, but on some days individual routes may see more of one type than the other or an even split.
