Which is why they are Loop only runs.  It's clear that the 400 runs ordination from Kimball and the 700s originate from Midway.   Rgisw are the Brownage runs providing supplemental service.

OK. Somehow, your first post confused me.

Since CTA flacks say that the growth in ridership is due to special events, it is not surprising that they added service.

I don’t want to just throw it out there but could this mean #5599 could make a comeback from the yellow line collision?🤷‍♂️

Since I threw out the question, I don't know, but I doubt it, since the front was crushed, and it probably is on litigation hold.

ok thanks, i think 55-56 are new to orange as i noticed they still have the dirty underbody from the congress branch

Just curious.   How would it be the Forest Park branch that would make the underbody dirty but not the O'Hare branch  ( that runs in the expressway median between Kimball and O'Hare)?

Obviously, he wasn't making that distinction, as the branches are part of one line. I presume he is comparing them to those on the Orange Line.

Due to the broken down roadbed that's been destroyed like the Ran Ryan Line was like until Rahm Emanuel had it shut down & the cruddy limestone ballast replaced with granite, which won't crumble from getting wet.  I'm sure the autos & trucks on the Ike dump tons of debris & diesel particulate matter into the roadbed.

So does this sound about right for the Blue Line?

2600s--56

3200s--approx. 240

7000s--approx .140

Total--approx. 436

Indeed. I’d say remaining 2600s will be gone off the blue line by the summer time the number is quickly curtailing. I assume after the blue is finished with the 2600s we should start to see a beginning of a decrease of 3200s as the 7000s flood the line and the yards

We all know it’s not just the Congress branch. The cars collect dirt from passing traffic on both branches as well as via the subway

It has been for a long time.

But the 2025 Budget said:

image.thumb.png.e354747613f65f8f54a94cdffc93a384.png

The prior statements were that the "options for expansion" were for 190 cars, and the assumption was that the base order was to replace 400 2600s (although that budget said there were about 490), and options for 256 were to replace 3200s. That's to be compared to the statement in the 2024 budget that after a base order of 300 (apparently now off the table) 9000s, options would be needed to replace 3200s.. Thus, the numbers don't quite add up. But I assume that a good number of 2600s  are considered not operational, even if they are not off the books, or are backups if other cars break down. I suppose that someone here who works on rapid transit might have more details.
