You'll have to ask the cop. But usually it is a question for the jury. By your logic, Kyle Rittenhouse never should have been arrested. And your rhetoric indicates an intent other than self-defense.  Self defense is only the amount of force needed to repel the threat, not "you beat the dog mess out of them." That shows intent on your part to commit a crime.

What @NewFlyerMCI said is essentially correct. But the "thug life" reflected in your post is why there is all the violence these days.

I'm sorry im not one of these drivers thats gone let somebody beat on me & call the police ?? somebody wanna throw them hands they attack me we throwing hands until I get you on the ground or you run I will not let nobody attack me I didnt evem call the police last fight I called control they sent 12 I wasnt about to call the police it wasnt that serouis

Fortunately they didn't call CTA or the police on you.  While you could be correct in defending purself.you have to make sure you follow company guidelines.   That train operator that hit that lady at 69th wasn't fired for hitting her.  They even said that she probably would've been hit anyway.   He was fired for not following procedures prior to the accident.

It's not thug life but if someone attacks me they getting beat up till they fall or either run off just like the last fight I had dude attack me & he got beat up until he cwaled to the back of the bus when I seen him do that I stopped & was never charged & that was last summer

If that's the amount of force it took to repel him and, as you said, you didn't pursue him when he crawled away, that would have been reasonable, and thus self defense. Your rhetoric raised the  question whether you knew where the line is, but the quoted part indicates that you did.

Yea see my dad taught me & the military taught me more if you are shooting or fighting with someone & they turn & start moving away from you & you continue you are now the threat so you could be charged if I had of keot going & beat do while moving away from me then I would have been fired & charged

Well downtown dont have any side streets, plus its my opinion downtown should get priority because it is downtown and serves the most people.

Errr, no. Downtown does have side streets. What else would you call Federal St., Plymouth Ct., Court Pl., Haddock Pl., Calhoun Pl., Marble Pl., Arcade Pl., Garland Ct., Stetson Ave., Beaubien Ct., and Quincy St. (with an "L" station no less)?

Do they get plowed ahead of other streets in other neighborhoods? I suspect they do.

Anyhow, @BusHunter, I just mildly caution you about blanket statements like this.

Quick question for you guys. How long ago was it that CTA tweaked the route names for 146 and 147 to reflect the present name of Lake Shore Drive? I only just noticed it on Monday when checking Bus tracker chart my commute home from work. I see that 146 is now 146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express and 147 is now 147 Outer DuSable Lake Shore Express. Bus stops and the destination signs still show the prior names though. ?

They're only streets because the City Council declared them to be streets.  The reason for that is if a building is surrounded completely by streets, it can go higher than one that borders an alley, which is what those "streets" actually are.

Man #1925 done with, the engine hood, side hood and the bumper has been stripped for parts as well so it may join #1805 and #1821 in the funeral possession. It is showing signs that it is confirmed a parts bus now we can say…??, the front part of it looks very mauled??

Wasn't like that when the new year rolled around, and I don't see it on the system map.

So much for the actual name changes we've (read: I've) been asking for like 15 Jeffery/Hyde Park, 35 West 31st/35th or 147 Outer Drive/Michigan Express, instead, we get these, which somehow manage to be more descriptive, and yet remain inconsistent (with each other), at the same time.

It was on the January 12,2022 agenda of the Committee on Strategic Planning, and then on that of the Board. I don't know why it needed Board action, but that gives you the date.

Ah! Okay thank you. Just shows how much I just happen to operate on autopilot at times when riding the bus. It's been over a month, and I just now notice the name changes earlier this week. ?

I'm not surprised such a small action required board approval. With all the interning I've done for various govt's over the last 6 years, what I've learned is that anything can randomly require board approval. I'm just curious as to why.

The name changes are reflected on the buses, yes? What do they say? I'm curious to see if they go with the squashed text format or abbreviations

Looking at the maths22 archive the name change took place last Sunday 2/13.
