IRRC @andrethebusman99 addressed this earlier. There will be 600 identical buses. plus 25 buses that look about the same, plus 425 buses that probably aren't much different. By comparison, the 1000s, although scattered at various times, had differing Cummins engines, transmissions, etc.

The only time I remember CTA having so many of the same kind was the 1970s 1000s/7400s/9000s, but I'm sure in those days the records were in a card file, not on a computer server. What seemed to dictate allocations this time were training and fareboxes.

More importantly mylar destination signs. Practical limits on how many exposures on a roll (about 125) meant each garage had distinctive signs which while not extremely difficult to change out, were definitely a hassle to do so you tried to avoid doing that.

Well 8910, 8917, 8944 are at Kedzie seems like we are winding down even more.

Yeah plus it also breaks someone's assumption that North Park was getting the entirety of the rest left to be delivered and put in service despite the evidence to the contrary. Your and Garmon's observations back up @artthouwill's conclusion from last month that the rest would be split between C, K and NP. The only difference with the reality that unfolded is 74th currently getting another small allotment to knock out a similar number of NFs down there.

This accident happened in January in the overnight hours. A Car fleeing from CPD ran a red light and struck the bus forcing it into the the light post. @Erin Mishkin Jr.

Wow that looks like the end of 8572’s short life if it ends up in the boneyard like that on legal hold. Is 8594 still in the boneyard damaged?

Yeah they're both still back there with litigation pending among possible frame damage to both buses.

that bumps it to 3, 8572, 8594 and 8660 but u gotta remember they are under warranty so they might get rebuilt

Warranty doesn't cover accident damage. But it appears that @Erin Mishkin Jr. is ready to call the scrapper tomorrow, which isn;t the case, either. All it means is that the accidents have to be investigated.

Indeed they do and it can take years depending on the severity of said accidents/incidents that occur on buses and trains. All along with the claims that come with it in the aftermath as far as the legality is concerned. That's why the CTA has it's own Law Dept to handle these matters.  @Erin Mishkin Jr.
