Trust me if there were anymore #6800s back there I would of let everyone know but outside of #6871 nothing else is here from FG except #1012.

Off-Topic but I think 1012 is pretty much done for. I'm not sure how bad the fire was, but judging on how old the bus is and since the 8350 Series Novas are suppose to start the retirement process of the D40LFs, ehhh I doubt it's going to come back.

actually if i’m correct 8350-8449 are to replace the remaining 6400’s then once 8450+ start arriving that’s when the D40LF’s will start to get phased out but here’s a good topic question…….what would CTA get to replace the 4000’s soon? XE60’s? XDE60’s?

XDE60s I guess, Either way I’m not sure on what’s gonna go down with the #4000’s. But in most terms we are going to retire up to 600 of the #1000’s I’ll say late 2022 to early 2023 when #8450+ arrive

Oh it’s done, especially it is turning 17 years old since it is a 2005 model. This gives me a clue on how much time left do the oldest ones have before retirement?

Since CTA says only electric buses after 2026, no. I'm not even sure it needs artics.

I can imagine XDE60s.

1000-1600? isn’t it 100 buses per year for the 8350’s? or was that false info?

Not exactly false, *1000-1599 as I can remember and yes it is 100 each year.

100 per year, but if what you guys say is correct about the boneyard, won't be in numerical order.

Only thing CTA had ever said about retirement order was 5300s first, but some of them outlasted the 4400s.

It never is. That would mean some of the junked 1900s will be returning, which their not.

It's gonna be a challenge to buy all electric buses. When they got the original artics they had to lease them. That's the only way they could afford those and electric is a step up from hybrid. Electric vehicle prices are soaring. I've seen used Mach E prices go up about 14k in just a few months since the gas crisis started. So it's not much of a leap to say bus manufacturers will be following suit.

The 4000s, but that was because management was hiding that it was going to withdraw the 7500s. For that matter, 1630-2029 were also financed by collateral obligations, so you can't base an argument based on propulsion method. As 91 other hybrids (4150-4207, 4300-4332) and electric buses demonstrate, the issue is what grants will be available.

Damn these appear to be officially dead awaiting the time to get picked for scrap. Even we are still a few steps away from the #8350’s going into service.
