As of last year there were at least three work buses sitting underneath 61st yard. They have apparently now disappeared from there. One a 4000 Brick (4240) , others a 3500 Flx (BW55 or 58?) and 300 GM (BW59). Have any of these appeared at the South Shops scrap line?

All of them have. They're sitting on the northern end of the boneyard near the defunct #6700s.

damn so the 6400’s that are already retired still sit at SS

Yeah I’m shocked to see the older ones at SS especially #6401, CTA could probably be waiting until the remainder of the #6400’s get retired by the #8350’s then they should send those and the OOS ones at the other garages down to SS to get prepped for the chopping block If that’s the case.

On Friday, 8 April, I may have rode a 6400-series bus for the final time.

I rode route #77 Belmont to take out a pizza from Papa Ray's Pizza [@ Pulaski]. To return west, I was amazed when #6837, running to Cumberland, was the one filling out the schedule. Usually, when the old Novas run, they are segregated to the lower-trafficked routes like #86 Narragansett/Ridgeland and #68 Northwest Hwy.

The interior of #6837 is completely sponsored by the Chicago City Colleges. However, the ad wraps pasted to the ceiling were in an early stage of peeling off. ?

I did not have my camera on me; so - sorry, no photographs. (I was carrying nothing but the bag holding the pizza.)

They’re being used more often in the earlier afternoon now, they don’t run in the mornings. They’re being used on different routes more often now. 6859 was on Lawrence the other day, and then many of them still run 86/84 and 152

#6871 is officially done after I spotted it sitting amongst the other dead #6400s in the boneyard yesterday. I didn't even realize it was there at first. That bus ran no later than a minute F (Forest Glen)804/4/2022, 2:40 PM4/4/2022, 2:41 PM80 -452 which is kind of funny in a sense. Pulled out just to break down not to long after. ? A few other buses I spotted back there was #1062,#1141, and #2017.#1870, #1935 and #1996 are still back there after all this time as well. I wonder what's the deal with #1935 though.

6875 and 6843 haven’t run for a while now, wonder if those buses are still active

All of this in one minute, at least it made 20 years of history?
