More Bus Moves

So, what sense does it make for #1109 to be back at 77th after being at 103rd for a couple of days? I've spotted it on #3 this morning near Michigan/Chicago.

Probably a loaner or tot take care of a temporary shortage.

I didn't want to mention it, but one of my reactions to the title of this thread was "should all 1800 buses be on chocks?" ;)

I have no clue as to why a person would put themselves in such great danger like that but stupidity wins this battle...........

Until I saw this post, I didn't know those buses had a handle there. Thankfully the cover she was holding on to didn't detach from the bus.

Just pay your fare like everyone else.

Looks like there was a trade overnight... 77th gave 74th some 1900's and Kedzie and 74th gave 77th some various NF's.

1098 - 8A
1099 - 8A
1106 - 79
1129 - 8 - (Kedzie?)
1133 - 87
1152 - 79
1153 - 8A
1561 - 3
1565 - 3
1566 - 87
1569 - 79
1573 - 52A
1575 - 8A
1592 - 3 (Kedzie)?

---
1930 - 47
1931- 59
1932 - 49
1933 - 75
1937 - 67
1938 - 63
1940 - 47
1943 - 94
1951 - 55
1955 - 49
1957 - 59
1960 - 63
1966 - 62H
1972 - 9
1975 - 59
1980 - 44
1983 - 62
1989 - 9

Just when 77th gets the 1900's back they give them back to 74th plus more. Some few rehabbed 1900's are left at 77th 1935, 1952, 1993, 1982. This move is confusing for me but maybe others can shed different light.

1152 and 1153 moved to 74th in (/14

1129, 1130 and 1133 (as well as 1592) were at Kedzie yesterday (all of 1122-1142 had moved to Kedzie this month).

It's the Novas effect mate!

They actually started washing the Fg ones yesterday. Before they were so black and sooty they cleaned only the bus numbers because you could no longer see them. Talk about major accomplishments!! #6882 went into service at Fg for the first time this week since it was at 74th. I wonder where it has been. Hopefully it has more original wood partitions than the other #6880's!!

By my count, it is only the Nova effect for 4 buses (18 to 74th, 14 to 77th, from ajm's list).

It isn't really clear whether the pick has an effect, other than the schedule changes with the pick.

But, apparently someone thought 74th needed something somewhat newer that what it had.

It was at the South Shop for a while.

That may play a factor but it's a key piece that's missing with these unprecedented swaps but still all these moves is making Forest Glen look like crap.

I haven't been keeping up with the garage roster and there doesn't seem to be an archive of them, but the questions basically are whether 77th hand 285 buses before the Nova deliveries began and whether there has been any net outflow of 1000s.

Only time will tell about that but my concern is, what's holding Forest Glen back from obtaining some NF's?

I could joke that 77th getting the #1100's is setting up for them to get more #7900's and transfer those low #1000's to FG but it could really be reality. I really doubt when the time comes for FG to get #1000's, they will get anything other than the base order or first option. I doubt they will get any of the last 400. It's almost funny to imagine CTA brass cringing when they have to send them something because obviously they don't want to do it or Fg would've had something by now.

#1547 and #1564 are on #3. #1576 is on #4. #1567, #1593, and #1620 are on #8. #1572 is on 8A. #1560, #1590 and #1591 are on #79. #1574 is on #87.

This is by far one of the more weird trades. If anything I would think 77th should of just gave away what they took first and left the 1900's. Most of these busses (1100, 1900) were just transfered a couple weeks ago.
