if its missing those good sign its done.

Unless it's like 1863 which was missing a farebox then suddenly came back like 2 weeks later. 1669 lost its engine panel and it was officially written off so 1910 is not the first one.

BTW I was on 1788 this weekend and this bus was pouring SO much water out of the lights. Half the seats in the back section was wet with this unknown liquid. No loud air conditioner was running at the time the photos and the attached video was taken. This bus was pulled off Skokie on Saturday around 3 o clock but it's back out today, on busy Broadway so I hope whatever this issue was is fixed. Not sure if it's a fire hazard or something but this definitely does not look right.image.thumb.png.d46dac6ea068eb3868b97c2e3e58b1ae.png image.thumb.png.8aa20b06ea29486f33a40caff72bbc57.png

It is time for the end of May update! I will remove all the buses that are confirmed down at South Shops that have been OOS for over a week. It is unknown whether at least some of these buses will return to service, but we will keep our eyes peeled. I will list the buses on my list that were spotted at South Shops on the bottom.

Key: Chicago Forest Glen Kedzie North Park

(*)=MIA, not spotted at South shops. spotted at south shops for over 60 days or at boneyard dead bus area or missing farebox is not on the list and therefore considered out of service/retired. 1846 is potentially awaiting repairs so it will remain as asterisk.

Confirmed spotted at South Shops that was on the April list: 1675 1691 1710 1723 1728 1775 1834 1837(Retired) 1869 1876 1903 1907 1910 2029

^ = 1768 was not on last month's list due to being out of service for over 2 months, since has returned to service.

Total number not spotted at South Shops and Active on the Road: 183

Total not MIA: 161

More than half the D40LF's in Options 3 and 4 are now out at South Shops either pending repairs or retirement, or have already been retired. This is going by fast, comparing to about only 20-25 of the 1000-1629 is retired. If only 25 out of 630 buses have been retired, that means about 96% of the Options 1 and 2 buses are still active.

#1113 and #1387 are finally receiving maintenance at SS.

1113 was back out and it broke once again…at least they repairing that. Nice to see 1387 getting fixed. Sound like apart from 1368 74th is keeping their flyers up and running

2024 is still active, if 2025 is not active anymore it is now the highest number D40LF that is still active. Crazy to think 2029 is done with service yet 1000-1009 are all still in active service

2025 is at SS receiving maintenance.

#1263 has supper dim lighting, I’m not sure how long it has been that way, but it is dimmer than those on other units that is usually bright, and I’m noticing the white in the LEDs appear to be a bit uneven throughout some units, some appear to look warm white, others have LEDs that appear to look like a blue whitish color from the very first time we’ve saw when the rehabs began 10 years ago, now that we are used to them they no longer appear to look blueish you’ll get a better view at night but maybe it’s just me …

Maybe CTA is using the lights they had in inventory for years.  That could explain the dinner lights in 1263 abd tge blue tint lights in other buses.  It can also explain the uneven lighting in some byses if different bulbs are being used.  I didn't pay attention to the lights in the 8350s to see if the lights were interchangeable between the Novas and the New Flyers.   Obviously they wouldn't want old lighting for the newer buses.   No better time to use up the old inventory of lights than now  since the New Flyers will eventually be retired

Seeing all of the flyers sitting down at SS man they are really coming to and end soon

On the other hand, NP routes on the street look like 103rd a couple of years ago.

What all flyers

That, and a lot of 1100s.

Although my observation was based on my own eyes, here;s what @maths22;s tracker shows at the moment around the 1100s range:

I was a freshman when the 1000s started showing on 95E. My old driver always came off N5 and Interlined with 29 or something else after the terminal. Used to floor it lol
