Mr.cta85
Not sure what's going on but I've been noticing a lot of 40fter on the 6 for the past few weeks today I don't think I even saw an articulated bus on the 6. Andrethebusman any clue what's going on with that??
garmon757
#1253's not rehabbed at all.I think it has a new engine because it does sound differently but it's unofficial to determine that.

Its been like that since C took the 18 artics 103rd had that were used to cover other runs that needed them outside of the 6 & J14

jajuan
Yeah.... NP, K and C robbing us for our artics like we dont have our own busy routes. Its been like that since C took the 18 artics 103rd had that were used to cover other runs that needed them outside of the 6 & J14 103rd still has 46 total artics. The 28 does see artics on some of those downtown runs. Let's be real though. Not much outside of the 6 and J14 needed heavy artic coverage. The 66 had a demonstrated need for extra capacity so Chicago Garage got some artics. Granted it could be argued that maybe NP could have parted with some of the 120 artics it consistently has, but in some ways you asking for artics placed on routes just for the sake of using them. That sounds about correct, 26 may have had some, but I don't think so recently.

Nah it's been a while since they been on the 26 however I've seen artics on the 28 but only like twice since the new pick started.
Sam92
, but in some ways you asking for artics placed on routes just for the sake of using them. not exactly cause as was said in prior posts, the extras were always placed in a way that moved them to the busiets runs through interlining, (ex. 95E became a #108 carver hs run then became a #34 to handle crowds.heading downtown for the am rush and so forth) then taking into account the 26, 28 which although doesnt justify full artic coverage can definately benefit from a few more than whats popping up now. And even if thats not enough there's 77th which has had so many artics pulled that they now.only hold enough to cover the 79, leaving 3, 4, 87, 8 and 2 to deal with crush loads under the crappy excuse that "anything outside of 79th is messing up/crowding the streets" which wasnt even an issue compared to the narrow North side streets that NP's artics hit *cough* Marine Dr *cough*
garmon757
Alright people, another rehabbed bus in the books because I'm riding #1326 on #36 right now. There are some minor flaws: 1. It doesn't have the priority seating signage on the seats. 2. There's a blackout on one set of the lightings. (Very strange)
BusHunter
You should have seen #1388. They looked like they were so excited to get a rehabbed bus to np they forgot to rehab the whole outside of the bus. It has turn plates missing no paint job and red kneeling stickers. Btw #1628's rehabbed. Just passed me on the #

I've spotted it on #29 near State/Adams about a half hour ago moments before I've finished my biking shift.

Yeah #1387 just passed me but it's not appearing on the tracker. #1409's about 7-10 mins. Behind it.
garmon757
Yeah #1387 just passed me but it's not appearing on the tracker. #1409's about 7-10 mins. Behind it.I hate that though but that's because either the driver doesn't log on or a system error. That use to happen a lot when I use to live in West Englewood waiting on the #9. It'll say that it would come in 20 minutes but all of a sudden one goes by me in less than 5 minutes but it wasn't on the tracker.
BusHunter
I chased #1387 down. I forgot it was one of the buses with the unfinished blue floor. Actually looked kind of clean. As with most of the np rehabs it did not have the handicapped message on the handicapped seats, just the symbol. You know only a few buses have tbe seat inserts with the message on the handicapped seats at np. But that is slowly working it's way to other garages. I believe #1580 is the same way. Maybe they didn't order enough seat inserts with the message on them?
