Sheridan is rough between Montrose and Foster. Broadway is too. Not being a North Sider, I was surprised at this considering how close to the lake this area is. But then again, I see the same thing in South Shore Anything west of South Shore Drive from 71st southward is a dicey proposition. The difference is that the North Side has much more density . I didn't see the damage I just saw that it was rear ended by a LFS 3rd gen. Based on what happened with 1883, it and 1753 might get fixed but we not sure yet since some like 1805 (despite a bigger crash) don't get reepaired but I heard 1805 was on some sort of repair though . A good example of what I meant earlier when I said those areas frequency matters for safety. South deering became 71st because people want a train that wasn’t gonna have them waiting in a hot area which was the red line and it’s buses vs waiting 20 min for a green line and 20 more for a bus that connects you with it

NewFlyerMCI
https://www.transitchicago.com/maps/ New line of text saying it was updated in Winter 2021 (to the current June 2020 one) and that they'll be another one coming soon. I imagine this will be to reflect the beginning construction on the NSML, along with the 81 & 92 reroutes (I can't think of any other big changes)

chrissz2613
I recently came across this planning document that IDOT put together for the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) several years ago. https://www.eisenhowerexpressway.com/pdfs/apndx c round 1 single mode map booklet final_icons.pdf A few of the figures in the document show the extension of the Blue Line into DuPage County that was discussed around 2008. The maps even show potential station locations. I know the idea of extending the Blue Line west was studied in the Cook-DuPage Corridor Study, but I don't think that project mentioned anything about specific locations for potential stations. Does anyone know where this IDOT document could've referenced the station locations from?

This has to be old as well, because I see Route 325, which is now mostly Route 303, there's a mention of a Route 350, which has never served over west, and I see Route 747 and Route 391 as well, which got cut sometime between 2010 and 2013 (Man, Pace has really pared down on routes over the years)

I actually did some sleuthing and came across this document from the Cook-DuPage Corridor study. https://rtams.org/sites/default/files/digital_documents/Cook-DuPage_Options_Feasibility_Study_1005.pdf If you look on page 50 of the document, there is a listing of "proposed stations" for the Blue Line extension to Oak Brook. ajm522
Does anyone know why there are Artics and some 40ft that sit off LSD at 31st Beach. Most of the busses belong to 103rd and they sit there for hours with a Supervisor escort and police. My initial thought was police busses but nobody is on the busses. My guess is staging for rush hour buses. At one time, buses were staged on Lower Randolph but I don't know if that is still the case. Also, I'm not sure where the Prudential/Ann buses are staged when not in use, but their staging area is somewhere nearby. I'm not sure.but the construction and/or completion of that new hugh rise at the east end of Wacker Drive may also have played a part in CTA possibly having to relocate its staging area. I’d still say cooling buses. The crowds at the beach are huge and they probably want to provide cooling buses but still keep people spaced out. Randolph is still in use for storing the 2, 3, 4 J14 and 26 buses not coming south for the midday.
Sam92
If it’s police related 31st might be the closest they can stage police buses to help control crowds of kids messing up downtown every Saturday night

Those are all police charters, almost every garage with operators available for them will pretty much show up to an assigned location and wait for further instructions from CPD/Supervision. You'll see those charters in peculiar areas for staging. 31st & Lakeshore is one,31st/79th and Halsted being the other two areas I've seen so far. I'm sure 71st and Cottage is another, pretty much anywhere that has an open field or available parking for buses to stage.

I get what you're saying, and to some extent, I somewhat agree, but transit and politics are naturally intertwined, and it's not like this is off-topic. These are CTA buses and personnel we're talking about here, in the appropriate topic
