I'm in position to post the image, which I didn't I didn't take any pictures cause I don't do that. But keep your shaming tactics to yourself.

I was referring to the "Word Porn" image. Since you did nothing to stop the theft yourself, putting the onus on CTA employees is hypocritical. Don't expect others to do what you personally are not willing to do. You're the one with shaming tactics.

The last time this came up was in connection with Metra, but conductors were accused by management of not doing their jobs in auditing tickets, and the agency faces certain inherent risks in having open platforms (demanded by ME passengers) and zone fares. In this case, CTA is facing theft of services by potentially armed thugs; the bus drivers are behind shields. I believe what @YoungBusLover and @Shannoncvpi said about what supervisors have told them, and, even though you have some "Word Porn," you are in no position to question that, just as I am in no position to tell your physician what meds to prescribe for you. The advice I give people is "if I were you.."*

Anyway, if this rash of service theft is a result of the pandemic, CTA has 2-3/4 more years of COVID money to cover it, which is why, for instance, after about 50 years, CTA is reinstating free transfers.

____________

*The closest I came to crossing that line was when I asked @Shannoncvpi if it was allowed to cruise his dashcam through CTA garages, but I didn't call his supervisors on it.

Your initial complaint was toward CTA employees aka the CA's quote on quote not doing there job when it comes to fare evaders. So a few employees currently working in the company tell you the honest truth about why that is and now you're implying that we don't believe in paying fares. You must be living under a rock to assume that, unless you want to confront the fare evaders yourself with little to no help I suggest you turn a blind eye to it because the CTA can only do so much with the resources it has available to it.  I'm an operator of 4 years now out of 77th and the one thing I remember during training was do not argue over $2.50 because you'll get charged for whatever happens after that especially if you're going to play the cat and mouse game with said fare evading customers. You state to them the fare is $2.50 which they already know and after that you continue in service. . I'm sure the CA's are trained the same way in some aspects, we all value safety but using common sense in certain scenarios can be the difference between life and death. Does that make it right? No.  However, that's just the way it is right now. Accept it and leave it at that because the few employees that try to be fare warriors normally get the short end of the stick. "If you see something say something." Yeah I'll say something when my life is in danger jack.

Dawg let him be he's going to run across the right person one day & what happens in the streets stays in the streets he wants to play hero that's him

I only brought it up as illustrative and not to relitigate the point. ?

I’ve had a CA tell me the best they can do is tell/remind the fare evader “The fare is $2.50/$3.” like what @YoungBusLoverdescribed on the bus side. Either way, since I’m not trained to fill out the forms that CAs fill out during the day (which I believe have a section regarding fare discrepancies), I don’t.

Even if you were at Pulaski on the Green Line or 79th on the Red Line?

They'll glady take your report but not much can be done for something such as that. It's just a reality you'll have to accept.

Good way to lose customers & money.

Yep. I used to live by the 79th Red Line Station.

My point is: what did you do? Did you dial 911 or call CTA security? Did you confront the tailgater?

Or did you just take the chicken way out and post a meme here?

I have to side with @Busjackon this take because at the end of the day, our main goal is to come back home the same way that we were before coming to work everyday. @ChicagoRailYou unjustly bringing up that word porn quote doesn't provide viable support and respect not only towards our riders, but towards our employees including me while some can seriously take that as offensive and insensitive about it. You have to be mindful when it comes to these matters. Moving forward, future posts around it will not be considered and warnings will be issued if this continues to be detrimental towards this topic and our members.

Whatever all that means. I never mentioned "word porn". You CTA employees (if you are one) need to be mindful of customer safety. Apparently you're very inconsiderate towards how one feels about it if he doesn't agree with the rest. So if you're gonna be judgmental against me, you need to take a real good look at yourself in the mirror as do everybody who bashed on me about this. Don't tell me to be mindful. That's disrespectful. Choose your words more carefully @garmon757. People like you are what I call toxic!

You sure posted a meme that said "Word Porn" right here. Despite several references to that post, you seem oblivious to it.

If you are disavowing it, DELETE IT. Also, you should apologize to one of the administrators.
