That we don't know yet.

I believe the Brown and Orange Lines will be first to get them assigned.   The Blue Line was supposed to get them,  but based on the deterioration of the tracks and r.o.w of the Forest Park branch, I don't think that section and support the weight and power of the new cars.   Before the 3200s were sent to the Blue Line,  CTA tested a four car consist on the Forest Park branch,  which obviously didn't go well

Add to the fact that CTA IS WAITING on IDOT to commence an Ike rebuild so they can coordinate a Forest Park branch rebuild with them.

After Brown or Orange?

Will the prototypes even be able to test on the Forest Park Branch?

I believe they will probably see testing on the Blue Line.   It will be only one set of cars and probably for a week or two st the most    if needed,  they can just run them between O'Hare and UIC,  but it shouldn't come to that.

they way CTA and IDOT are going with the congress branch blue line will most likely become all 3200’s unless rebuild starts some time in the coming months

The 7000s are nice But I know Im in no hurry to see those cars on the Blue  Im satisfied with the 3200s being assigned! The 2600s need to go  Theyre done!

one thing i like is the black around the windows it fits in really great

Those are a nice touch and help give the cars a more modern appearance. I'm very curious how the interior turned out. Each subsequent rendering that was released seemed to inch more and more towards the same old aesthetics.

if anything it will be half 3200’s half 5000’s or maybe even 7000’s we will see how testing goes on the blue

Probably they couldnt even run 5000s on the forest pk branch. They will most likely remain 3200s and 2600s until they have to have 5000s and then they might have to split the blue line at racine to keep a couple 2600s around if the argument of 5000s on forest pk branch has any merit. 5000s could then run the blue but only from racine nb.

hopefully it’s not basic inside i only know there are new seats that’s it

Until we see the interior for ourselves, I think the most visible change aside from the seats will be the security displays that show footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the cars. I think they’re also supposed to display other things, but I don’t remember. The cars will also come with passenger counters, though those will be much less visually intrusive.
