Busjack
A critical mistake whoever the operator was for leaving the curtain wide open but hell, I surely took advantaged of it!!! That happens once in a while, especially on the Brown and Orange Lines I don't think there is anything classified in there, so long as one can't get into the cab to mess with the equipment. The curtain is probably there to reduce glare from the car lighting if the cab is in use.

I guess they won't get distracted by rude and unusual passengers.

Busjack
Though if Garmon was sitting in car 4 or 5, it could have been the lead car during the midday. Not when he was riding it. If it were midday, I suppose that the relief operator would have pulled the curtain.

ctrabs74
Did the 7100/7300's have this problem? I understand they were pullers, but don't recall incidents involving ice. SEPTA's Volvo artics were also "pullers" and handled poorly in icy conditions (of course, a couple of the routes where SEPTA's Volvos operated had some steep terrain compared to relatively flat Chicago). No I don't remember the 7100s or 7300s having any issues in wintry conditions similar to those that had CTA parking all artics on a lot of weekends last winter. The only major incident I remember was an accident on South Lake Shore Drive involving a 7100 operating as a 6 Jeffery Express that rolled over a car that had pulled in front of it IIRC. Kevin posted a few pics of 7300s during winter in fact.
jajuan
You have to wonder why would Kedzie need more #1000's in the first place. It might be because they plan on losing some hybrid #800's. Seems weird 33 #7900's in service and no #6400's retired. Speaking of #6400's, FG replaced the seats on #6516, just the bottoms, but it makes the bus look much better. The fault I see with the #7900's is not that they are slow, (they are passing #1000's on LSD) is that they are typically hot buses. I guess Nova doesn't give them a free AC recharge, but even if they ran the vents the bus shouldn't be that warm. The second is all these push bells on grab bars. There's like two up front two at the rear door and one at the back. That's too many. The one by the rear door, there's one they put right where people lean against the base board/partition for the rear door seems to have an issue. I was standing there myself and I swear I was ringing the bell, so now I'm leary of standing there. Also these rear doors are always hard to open like I'm not breaking the signal on the vapor door. Maybe it's just me or maybe not. I need to examine what other riders are doing there before I can really say if it needs adjustment or not. Also keep in mind Kedzie has a lot of work. It covers two of the North LSD routes, the short runs of the 151, the Union Station and Olgilvie Metra express, a lot of routes that go downtown in general, some west side N-S routes, and all the E-W routes south of Madison up to 39th with Archer being closed permanently the last four years. garmon757
I know it's a school run but I don't recall any artics being on #35 until now (#4016 to 35th/Archer Orange Line).

garmon757
Actually I think you or someone else reported one doing a school run on the #35 some time last year. It wasn't me because I didn't start posting until November of last year. Check this out: Since when #49 start having school runs??? It starts @ Western/Division (Clemente High School) northbound. #1403 and #4145 are in operation of those runs. Wow, Kedzie got #50 as a school run (#1210). It begins @ Damen/Adams southbound and #4366 is on that route for another school run that begins @ Damen/Foster.
andrethebusman
Ti-1 and T1-2 have been positively ID'd. They are two of the three "mechanical trainers" that have been around for years and were never regular service buses. The Flx was the original 5300 that was the pilot and saw a couple of days of service at FG on 81-Lawrence. The RTS was never complete internally and was always all-white. There might be a third, T1-3, as there is a Nova at the training center at 89th numbered 7200 that was never an in service bus.

YoungBusLover
There is an all white pilot #6000 and #1000 some where around the city because I recently just saw an all white #6000 traveling down South Chicago. It had all the original head lights and tail lights and the roof was different than the #6000's we've seen before.

'L' Trains don't have that type of horn, just a whistle. What's next, a ride on a Nova with this sound coming from the engine? What's wrong with a bit of reality in the fictional shows? I remember in "The Fugitive", Gerard(Tommy Lee Jones) hears in the background from a phone trace of Richard Kimble(Harrison Ford) the announcer of an 'L' train saying next stop is Balbo Station.

Somewhere there's a picture of it at Jeff Pk, i've seen it. I believe you said that that bus had no lift. I don't know if TI-2 had one or not, but it's sort of oddball, the later pictures at Chicago garage, I believe have it marked as accessible LOL!! Well I guess I got to look over those shots now that you said this.
