#8431 made its debut on a 103rd route currently on the 108 Halsted/95th

So it's possible that when the 8450s start arriving, 193rs could get part if that batch, anywhere from 25 to 50 of them.  I don't think 103rd will go all Nica.  I suppose 66rg vecines the next garage after 103rd to get new Novas

So far not one of these 103rd nova buses are tracking so the only way we know they are out is by word of mouth. I guess the #1000's are destined for 77th. Something should be retiring soon.

You're correct but the question is what will get knocked off first between the #1000-#1299 batch?

Whatever is not working. Strange fg kept more older 1000s and got rid of some newer ones. Well 103rd is going to have  upwards of 100 novas now between all the extra buses.

Yeah I was stumped on that as well with FG/77th, I would of assumed 77th would of traded with FG to gain there lower block of #1000s and maybe traded away some #1200/#1300s in exchange. I know that the #7900s we have are not totally off limits but unless we're getting #1000s that have updated shields to offset such a trade of #7900s it doesn't seem worth it. Either way whatever is in the worst shape should be sent to 77th for retirement and whatever is left from that stays until further notice.

that trade might happen between 103rd and FG FG might get some of the 1050-1100 range if FG gives up their 8350’s

77th is the key. The split of 50 makes the most sense for both garages, what I'm saying is 74th,77th and K should be in the mix for the older buses that get pushed out from FG/103rd.

Now why would FH give up 8350s though when having the last in service 6400s and some of the oldest New Flyers it was in need of new buses?

think of what happened wit the 8325’s 8325-8342 was there for a week or 2 and got bounced to 103rd in exchange for 1034-1051

Don't take that as a regular thing. That had more to do with spreading buses around with updated shields that give bus operators more coverage so that they could be used as night cars on owl routes after attacks against transit employees were on the rise. Otherwise those buses probably would have stayed at FG. If I recall correctly, Kedzie got its first 7900s around the same time for similar reasons, and 74th started leaning more on running overnight service mainly with its 7900s instead of mainly New Flyers like it previously had been doing. The only garage that didn't Novas redistributed to it was NP.

I preferred for them to not give up the #8350’s they just received and they deserve the newest equipment that’s just recently swapped out the #6400’s and they have the oldest #1000’s that they’ve had for a while. A 50/50 split seems to work better between FG and 103rd.

Forest Glen deserves new equipment why would you want to trade away new equipment for old equipment. Plus those 1050-1100 batches I could see them go to 77th or K or 74th

It's probably better to do 50 at each garage cause the delivery is gonna crawl on these. My God, it would take 6 years for the last garage to get buses, but it will probably take 4 anyway.

If FG lost what it had that would make no sense, because like you say it's an oldest for newest trade.

103rd will be getting new electrics 6 of them and then what, half of all electric buses purchased? They always seem to get new buses on every order and they will continue to.
