i feel like every thing else is retired

Sadly the flip dots, all the #6700s and a few #6800s seem to me that they are done and sadly #6882 hasn’t ran since August of this year. Ever since #6860’s fire erupted it caused a slight failure regards of having the #6400s in service throughout the day except the weekends. I guess those can relax while we wait for the #8350s. At least they made 21 years of service could they slightly survive 22? We shall find out of how fast the #8350s arrive I believe Nova has some of them out of 100 probably built.

I think #8351 could be with #8350, I could be more wrong than I think, but as of now I think it is just only #8350 solo for now until the rest arrive. I do hope the #6400s can see a little bit of spring 2022 before they start biting the dust when the base order arrives.

So is it safe to say the Novas hold the new record for longest bus series? Before it was the 4400s and 5300s.

Yeah the last #5300 aka #5643 retired in early January of 2009 which would have been close to 18 years and the novas have surpassed that mark already given that the remaining #6600s are 2000 models. They've made 21 years so far while the #67/6800s are about 20 years old now. Weren't the remaining MAN #4000s 20 years old when they finally got retired in 2004? I figure the old Fishbowls and GMC were the longest running series.

I have a feeling the #1000s could end up surpassing 20 years too. With the second option of the #8350s to replace the first half of them, the retirement of the #1000s will most likely take a while versus the slow delivery of the #8350s.

Fr, they outlasted all the buses that ain’t make it this far.

Exactly & didn't get rehabbed all of the other buses did well the 5300's I dont think those ever got a rehab thats why when dooms day came they knocked the rest of those off but they could have kept the 60's in play but they only reactivated a few for 3 for a short time

5300s were retired by the 1000s along with the 4400s and 5800s. 6000s were doomsday retirements and whatever went to 103rd was excess storage.

Not all the 5300's where knocked off by the 10's cuz some ran until dooms day also

Not the 2010 doomsday there were some “sky is falling” doomsdays that happened 2008-09 that probably threatened to retire then but the 5300s were gone by the 1000s arrival along with the Spring 2008 pick that lowered fleet requirements.

Ok so I’m off by some months. Spring 08 made retirements quicker but last 5300 was off the road for sure by January 2009 going by rosters and the site. The doomsday was in feb 2010 and that strictly retired the remaining 280 6000s plus closed archer due to old age.   Chicago getting 6000s was from cta being dumb enough to give 74th all 6000s which resulted in constant failures so 103rd and C gave them some flyers in exchange for some flxibles

I think 74th was always a trunk garage that didn’t allow buses to rest once they were out. 74th only had idle buses in the AM which is why they had taken up the 108 for a whole. Add to that the Ashland buses that ran till 3am on top of the Owls

Yea 6 do always run buses but I know they got enough buses to rest some but they just like to run it up they just run so much from each bus maker while letting some chill but they a lap got some 6400's they need to start an up let em run & if they run good put em on the streets
