T8H5307A
#6497 is also out on the #9. Also yesterday and today a few #6090's are appearing at Chicago. Today #6097 is on the #76 and #6090 is on I think the #74. There was another one yesterday but I forgot which one. Also 6032 was on the X54 yesterday afternoon

I spotted at least one of these Novas reported on the Ashland routes this morning while at work. I don't know which it was because from inside I couldn't see the vehicle number or whether it was on the local or express route. I was wondering too if some moves were happening a few days early, but hearing the vehicle numbers the loaner thought sounds more likely to me as well. sw4400
Today #1428 was on the #80 and #1374 was on the #85. Probably too early to tell(these might be just temporary loaners as the 6000's dwindle down to zero by Sunday or Monday), but given these are North Park New Flyers, does this mean that North Park might be losing some NF's/possibly getting some NOVA's? The same could be asked of 74th, at least on the getting Novas side of it, if one were to look at the past couple of days as more than temporary loans. daerah
NFs 1188, 1189, and 1190 are at FG now (maybe 1187 and 1191 too). Anyone know if more Novas or Flxibles transferred out of FG in this newest swap? I'm glad 1188 and 1187 are gone from Kedzie...1187 is modified/slow...and 1188 is just slow..along with 1194. Now all we need to do is get rid of 1165 and 1161 somehow. And I REALLY wish the Glen would take 1204 off our hands too...ugh that bus is horribly slow, it makes a 6400 nova seem like super fast. jajuan
do u think 103rd could get novas from archer over the weekend when archer closes? Whoever put a -1 on the post, the question is valid because there will have to be quite a bit of shuffling this weekend to cover the closing of Archer garage and the Flx's retirement. And 103rd does have Flxibles which will be retired along with the rest.

I certainly didn't, but since I don't see anyone here claiming to have the roster for Monday, I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to see what happens. In fact, I bet we may have to wait a couple of weeks to purge all the Flxs (just my gut feeling). I wonder how many Bus Tracker hits will be people really wanting to see the next bus arrival time, instead of most of us clicking on all the icons to get the bus number.

Yes it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. My only thought on it is, they might need to keep Archer around a couple weeks in that situation if enough Flxs aren't purge over the weekend to fit in seven garages with the low-floor models. jajuan
On the question of Kedzie giving up artics to 77th, it's not going to happen from Kevin's update of bus model assignments at the garages. 77th is losing it's artics and going to just 1000s and Novas, and apparently the artics are redistributed among the other artic garages because 103rd will be doing runs on the 2, 4, 6, 71 and some others with 77th. Somehow Kedzie apparently keeps enough runs on what routes it ends up with to justify still holding them while somehow 77th's runs on its routes starting tomorrow are not deemed artic-worthy. trainman8119
103rd won't get any Nova's according to the list. But Chicago and North Park will. That is interesting, seeing as how I saw 6566 parked in the terminal at 47th and Lake Park today on what appeared to be the 28....or at least parked in the 28 section of the terminal. trainman8119
They announced on the radio that all the remaining Flxibles will be mothballed at Archer. I saw a couple of dark 6000's headed south on Pulaski at the Eisenhower on the way home tonight. Couldn't get the numbers, but it looked as though they were going to turn onto and head east on the Ike from Pulaski.

Yes, and Kedzie will be one of two garages (along with 103rd) which will not be getting Novas. Instead, Kedzie will be assigned a few additional 1000s. And Route #62 will be one of many routes which will be run with a mixture of 1000s and Novas - if largely because that route will be run with equipment from three garages (in this case, K, 74 and 77). On the other hand, former Nova routes #21 and #60 will become NF-only routes (mostly 1000s, with a few occasional 800- and 900- series hybrids and 4000s) because only K will be operating runs on those two routes. And get used to seeing Novas on such routes as #8, #9, #22, #36, #55, #63 and #67 on a regular basis. And don't be surprised to see an occasional Nova pop up on #146 or #147 even though those two routes operate primarily with 4000-series artics. All of the routes mentioned in this paragraph will operate out of garages equipped with both 1000s and Novas.
cta5658
Where Did 77th's Hybrids Go To?
RJL6000
Where Did 77th's Hybrids Go To? Apparently, 103rd. Largely because of Route #6 (Jackson Park Express), whose runs will be shared between 77th and 103rd. And some of 77th's Novas numbered in the upper 6400s and lower 6500s went to 74th (which will also get many of Archer's 6500s). This leaves 77th with both extremes of the Novas' numbering (low-to-middle 6400s and middle-to-upper 6800s). The other Nova garages include Chicago (upper 6500s-middle 6600s), North Park (upper 6600s-middle 6700s) and Forest Glen (upper 6700s-lower 6800s); the expected number groups would be as listed once the assignments settle down. (77th and FG will have some additional 1000-series New Flyers to compensate for the loss of some of their Novas.) And as I mentioned in my earlier post, Kedzie will be the only garage with only New Flyers (albeit of all four recently-delivered types). 103rd will have Optimas to go with its New Flyers even though it won't get any Novas because it will run what few University of Chicago routes that remain as well as a few lower-ridership routes on the extreme South and Southeast sides.
