RJL6000
1751-1760 were transferred to NP from 74th last year. So this could be a loaner. Maybe not. 1756 is on the #9 Ashland today. In addition, K apparently also lost its 1240s and 1250s (1248-1252) to 77th. Bus 1249 is on the #29 State and 1251 is on the #30 South Chicago, two routes shared between 77th and 103rd. Also, NP lost many of its 1900s odds to 77th. Some of these ex-NP 1900s are now running on King Drive and Cottage Grove at this hour. RJL6000
In addition, K apparently also lost its 1240s and 1250s (1248-1252) to 77th. Bus 1249 is on the #29 State and 1251 is on the #30 South Chicago, two routes shared between 77th and 103rd. Based on cta5658's observations, the entire group of five middle-1200s that were formerly at K are now at 103rd - to partially compensate for 103rd sending five of its artics to K during the summer. I was wrong about them going to 77th. 77th did, however, get some of NP's middle 1900s evens (77th already has the odds in that range) as compensation for the loss of its lower-numbered 1300s to NP during the summer moves. And as I noted earlier, 1720-1724 went from K to 74th to compensate for 1596, 1597, 1599, 1601 and 1603. And of course, NP sent some of its 1750s back to 74th. Expect NP to receive a few buses from C during the Fall pick as C received 1586-1595 from 74th during the summer.

While driving east on Irving Park for an appointment, I saw 74th's 1743 going south on Sheridan, with 151 signage.

Tamir4317
#1962 is on the #3 headed to 95th st. Wasn't this bus transferred (to my chagrin) to North Park last year?
jajuan
Maybe not. 1756 is on the #9 Ashland today. In addition, K apparently also lost its 1240s and 1250s (1248-1252) to 77th. Also if 1599 is indication 1596, 1597, 1599, 1601 and 1603 possibly all went to 103rd after their summer stay at Kedzie. As for the 1750s returning to 74th from NP, it seems it's more than just C gaining buses in the summer. 1743 being reported on 151 seems to imply NP traded the 1750s back in exchange for some or all of the 1740s. Also, I was partially wrong about #1720-1724 going to 74th. #1720 is still at K while #1722-1724 are now at 74th. I have not spotted 1721 yet. And K either sent or loaned artic #4055 to 103rd. nflyer22
Spotted 1032 on #29 State early this morning. It had a 103rd run, but the "C" sticker was still on the window.

RJL6000
1034-103rd 1934-77th 1251,1252-103rd Actually, more than those went to the South Side. Kedzie sent its entire 1248-1252 block along with 1599 and artic 4055 to 103rd. And as I noted earlier, 1722, 1723 and 1724 plus 1750-1756 went to 74th. NP's even-numbered buses from 1930 to at least the 1960s are now at 77th.

I can see NP getting more artics and less 40-footers because more of its routes are heavily populated with artics. And it makes sense to put those 1900s from NP onto 77th's routes, seeing how crowded the buses on those routes can be and those buses can provide more standing room with their seating arrangement. With 103rd getting #1248 - #1252, #1030 - #1034 and #1599 and the #507 -#516 Optimas, I wouldn't be surprised if those spare #6000's went back to storage. So by what I figure, North Park lost 24 buses, FG lost 10 buses, C lost 5 buses, K lost 6 buses and 74th gained 12 buses, 77th gained 17 buses and 103rd gained 17 buses. artthouwill
I saw 6472 on 49 Western today. Not unusual except the run number began with a P and this is a 74th bus. I looked for the sticker to identify the garage, but there was none. Therefore, I don't know if it was a loaner or a switch.

pudgym29
I know that all the Titan Media buses in the 1200s are still at Kedzie (In fact, I saw one the other night on #82 Kimball-Homan. Didn't think Kimball-Homan ran in the areas that advertisers want their ads to be glimpsed. Anyhow, all the ads I viewed were for Chicago TV stations.). But which buses from 1189-1261 are at Forest Glen and which aren't; in particular, now that some buses in the 1248-1252 span went to 103rd? Why weren't they previously sent to Forest Glen? Actually, the entire 1248-1252 span (5 buses) went to 103rd. Also, Kimball-Homan is one of at least three routes operated out of Kedzie that are run mostly or entirely with 4000-series artics on weekends. sht6131
Not today. For some unknown reason there are not any 4000`s assigned to 82. They were still assigned to 12 however. Will check again tomorrow.

Will check again tomorrow. This is likely because many of the other Kedize artics are operating the #151 Sheridan short runs between Union Station and Belmont. Plus, there are three artics on the #124 Navy Pier route today. Hence, no artics are required on the #82 during midday. And that's not to mention that Kedzie does not operate any #145 runs on weekends - but instead, all of the weekend #145 runs are from North Park. sht6131
It just seems weird that Kedzie pulled them. This is the first time since the Feb 6 cuts that this happened. . The Artics were assigned to 82 on weekends since the cuts as well as on the short turn weekend 151.
sht6131
Sorry guys to elaborate on my recent posts regarding the Artics being taken off the 82 this weekend as it just bugs me since it is my favorite route since my early CTA 60`s day. Is there an operator from Kedzie out there that can shed some light on this? Thanks

Is there an operator from Kedzie out there that can shed some light on this? Thanks There doing construction work on Kimball between Foster and Lawrence and the #82's are detouring via Lawrence to Kedzie to Foster both ways. With the area around Lawrence and Kimball being so conjested (the other two intersections are not much better) with tons of pedestrians it would pose an extra challenge to drive an artic through there. sht6131
Thanks busjack. That makes some sense as Lawrence is very narrow at those intersections to maneuver right turns with Artics.
