But I do wonder why is my old garage getting rid of their upper numbered buses. Its weird but im starting to think that maybe 103rd are preparing to receive the remaining of the new novas. And will send the rest of the low numbered NF'ers to FG and perhaps becoming an all NF garage. May is just a few weeks away just in time for the summer pick as well. But I also hear that 74th will be all nova as so who knows but that's just my hunch at least for now lol. The new novas are awesome by the way just the breaks are a little sensative and the back door really does take forever to close ?? great bus still though lol. Of course 74th going all Nova is rumor since if they wanted that to be the case, they could have just kept deliveries there going past 8099. It at least was a garage that had 6400s previously to justify getting part of the 7900 series. 103rd being in the running I just don't buy. I look at all the NF moves being nothing more than the usual shuffling madness that CTA does that historically tends to come with a new series coming into action while another gets withdrawn after a few years of relative quiet and stability.

As I implied earlier, there probably is one way someone can confirm whether a garage is going to get Novas. The 2014 EPA diesel engines require Ad Blue, so look for the urea tank, but as some car columns say, don't take a leak into it.

I saw that during the SARS epidemic and it scared me a little..... either the Operator is Recovering/Dealing with a highly contagious illness, in which case shouldn't he be out until he recovers so he doesn't spread whatever he has?(those masks are only so protective) A germophobe..... not a good line of business to be in working with the public with this, however.... you're touching steering wheels, computer and farbox terminals, bus controls.... all of which have come in contact with numerous other people throughout the course of the day. I wonder how Howie Mandel gets through shows like Deal or No Deal and America's Got Talent with this??? RJL6000
Looks like the "swapocalypse" involving 103rd Garage this time involved 74th and 77th Garages. 103rd got some of 77th's remaining upper 1000s and lower 1100s while 74th got some of 103rd's remaining lower 1500s, and 77th got a few 1230s through 1250s from 103rd. I do not know all of the exact buses that got transferred amongst the three garages.

If for no other reason besides getting the number blocks somewhat continguous, it doesn't make sense for 103rd to trade some buses to 77th for some slightly older buses. However, it looks like 77th is getting prepared for a swap with Kedzie in the coming weeks: 77th will be taking most of Kedzie's remaining #1200s (#1214, #1217, #1223, #1235, #1250, #1251, #1254-#1256, #1271, #1272 and #1280-#1283), and in return, 77th will be sending its remaining #1600s (#1601, #1603, #1606 and #1620) and some of its upper #1500s (which may include #1587-#1596) to Kedzie. It looks like now all the #1500's may depart 103rd, they seem to be definitely striving towards the lowest #1000's at 103rd. That doesn't really make sense because the #1500's were in consecutive number blocks. I can only think this means one of 2 things, 103rd is getting #8200's or when number blocks are assembled across the garages they'll finally get some higher buses. Probably 103rd will be left alone soon for the next highest #1000's garage which seems to be Kedzie. If they are assembling number blocks across the garages we may very well be swapping all year!! It's probably for the best though, with buses scattered all around and some not having correct garage stickers it's a wonder half one garages buses didn't end up somewhere else!! I have already included it in the #1502-#1521 range that was transferred from 103rd to 74th. Also, you may see Kedzie's #1300s going to 77th in exchange for #1560s and #1570s (in addition to the #1580s, #1590s and lower #1600s that are currently still at 77th going to Kedzie in exchange for most of Kedzie's remaining #1200s). Lastly, Kedzie will be sending its sole remaining #1200 that will not be going to 77th, #1206, to 103rd at some point in the future. So bus #1211/#1212 will be the defining cutoff point where #1200s buses #1211 and lower will be at 103rd while any #1200s from #1212 above will be at 77th. (And this assumes that 74th will be trading its remaining #1100s to 103rd in exchange for 103rd's remaining #1500s.) And there are still 74th, Chicago and North Park needing to trade their remaining #1200s and #1300s to 77th in exchange for higher-numbered buses. The current plan is the lowest of #1000s will be at Forest Glen, while the #1100s and some #1200s will be at 103rd, other #1200s and most of the #1300s will be at 77th, upper #1300s to lower #1500s to end up at 74th, and the rest of the #1500s and most of the #1600s and some of the #1700s at Kedzie. Everything above about #1720 or so will be divided between Chicago and North Park unless the plan changes.

If they go elsewhere, then it'll be eventually 1000-1249 at FG. **=This roster will be set sometime in 2017 after the last of the exercised option has arrived and is set to be used, and any remaining 6400-Series Novas have been retired

My theory is based on movement speculation of what's going where as of late. Since 103rd seems to be sending FG their New Flyers(they're currently up to 1033), and 103rd's getting the rest of the 1000 block and seems to be picking up the 1100's too, that's where my theory comes in. I figure after some more moving around and depending on the X-Factor(that being 8200-8324 and where they go), the 1200's may be sent to 103rd to be shipped to FG(at least up to 1249). Possibly, but I think it does give more support that FG will then get the #8200's. That leaves 60-80 #6400's depending on the #8325 option. A little extra retiring for new equipment and they could be down to 30 or less #6400's at FG in 2017. Only thing is I don't think the south side is going to let the north side take all the newer #1000's. Somewhere someone will probably share with them. According then to his math and mine then this would be the end result (1) 1034-1210 (7) 1211-1382 (6) 1383-1556 (K) 1557-1741 (P) 1742-1894 (C) 1895-2029 I hate to say it but all the transfers so far seem to reflect that. BusHunter
They might have to. I guess this is how the current pres wants it. The rosters before were kind of messy. With his background it would seem to make sense that the rosters would get neater. We still might see packs of sharing fleets. I find it hard to believe all the longitudinal 1000's would go to chicago for instance.
