Hopefully no one's scared of the dark because Logan Square station is totally in the dark. They just have those little lights on but they don't light up nothing. I was going to charge my ventra but the only charging I did was back on the train to Belmont. LOL!!

It looks as if the next block of 1000s,   1016-1029  has migrated to FG.  Many,  but not all buses in that range have shown up on Maths22's tracker yet,  but it's probably a safe assumption.

Here's the kicker:  1033-1043 are now appearing on 103rd St.  routes.  They had been assigned to 74th.

It's may be safe to assume that the entire block of 15,  1030-1044 are there,  but still can't be sure.

Nothing recent from Chicago Ave.  has shown up at 74th yet.   Maybe later today.

Yeah i figured that's what's going to happen at FG. The surprising part is that #1033-43 went to 103rd. So 74th does have spares!! 103rd for some reason doesn't seem to have spares. We haven't heard from 77th but I believe they have spares too. I wouldn't be surprised if soon FG gets those #1033's. It probably will be hard to squeeze out more #1000's than what FG had before 50 or 60, but we'll take it. They'll just have to rely on the #8200's for the rest of the #6400 retirements. It's possible but they still probably have to order the #8325's.

Have you been to FG to see them?

I haven't visited FG in many moons.  However,  I have no  reason to doubt the accuracy of Maths22's tracker.  Additionally,  I did spot one of the 1020s in service on Lawrence earlier today.

Yeah these bus operators are almost giddy at the relief points. Nothing like a newer bus to brighten someone spirits. Never seen anyone so happy to have a 10 year old bus!! :P I have to admit though, I purposely missed a bus so I could ride one today. ;)

BTW, #1030 popped up this evening on the #111, so I guess C sent 103rd #1030 and #1031. I thought maybe Fg might have got them, especially after I saw Chicago's #1024 out today at FG, but I guess it's not time yet.

I was kind of shocked, while C got all the new buses, 74th did all the purging. That leads me to think another 15 is on tap for the glen next. Maybe they can squeeze another 15 for the glen after that for 60 total, but that will probably be it until we see where the #8200's go.

I'm guessing after 8195-99 arrives that 1237, 1245, 1248, 1249, and 1264 will be sent to 103rd.

Maybe more than that, something has to take the place of #1030-43. Chicago only dealt 4 buses I think this round and gained 8 or 9. Add that to what's left to receive and it's about 15 give or take a few. I get the weird feeling 77th will be a surprise contributor to 103rd for week/round 4, but chicago or 74th has the #1040's and #1050's. You know if I were to predict doom and gloom, with 103rd getting all these #1100's, it could set the stage for up to #1200's to go to the glen. Would CTA be that mean to us over here on the w/nw side? o.O You would think they would be nice to the garage that's had it's back fixing these old buses. NF still has a nice bus even after 10 years. All the buses are pretty good once they deal these #6400's. BTW, #6675 was motoring down Armitage at Wood today wb, can't figure that one out, that's out of place for FG.

To be fair, I think Kedzie might be in the mix due to the fact that it has the higher 1000s (1076-1096, ex-1084) but it's somewhat controversial that 74th gave back 103rd original buses instead of giving them to FG because I have a feeling that 103rd are going to give them right to FG. However the all mighty 77th need to stop being a stingy duke and contribute by letting some go too.

I guess the question whether the reassembly of blocks assumed by some commenters is in CTA's mind, but other than that, C>103>FG moves don't make much sense.

It really don't. I can see 74th, Chicago, and 103rd giving some to FG because all three garages are responsible of 1000-1076 and 1084 before the changes respectively.

If they're going to keep a constant block of New Flyers and give FG the 8200's, keeping in mind the 125/125 split.... this should be Forest Glen by the end of 2017, hypothetically....

-1000-1124

-8200-8324

In order for that to happen, multiple garages would have to do some shifting....

  • Chicago: 1017,1024,1030,1031,1049,1051,1052,1053,1054,1055,1056,1057,1061,1063,1064,1065,1066,1067,1068,1069,1070,1071,1072,1073,1074,
  • 1075,1084
  • Kedzie: 1076,1077,1078,1079,1080,1081,1082,1083,1085,1086,1087,1088,1089,1090,1091,1092,1093,1094,1095,1096
  • 74th: 1058,1059,1060,1062,1112,1113,1115,1117,1118
  • 77th: 1097,1098,1099,1100,1101,1102,1103,1104,1105,1106,1107,1108,1109,1116
  • 103rd:1032,1033,1034,1035,1036,1037,1038,1039,1040,1041,1042,1043,1044,1045,1046,1047,1048,1050,1110,1111,1114,1119,1120,1121,
  • 1122,1123,1124

These four garages would have to find a way to shift all these buses to Forest Glen between now and the end of 2017 to hold a theory of constant block of New Flyers true with 1000-1016,1018-1023,1025-1029 already assigned.

They can probably function at fg with 60 nf's if they got the #8200's. Cause for one 125 new buses gets them to 185, they only need 250, but no doubt the new buses will reduce the spare ratio. Question is by how much. 185 might be stretching it but if the #8325's show up then that's doable. Fg should be able to function with 210- 230 new and rehabbed buses.

but as I said, they retain at least 27 Novas until the electrics show up.

Which would mean 60-65 NFs could still be enough for them to function. It's good though that the two year restriction to only 6400s is finally ending at FG.
