Spotted #3315-16 in service then passed Rosemont yard to find #3319-22 and #3325-26 there. I'll be out in the field later today maybe I can start to put together a roster on all these changes. Is the roster correct that these 3300s are from the Brown Line?

Does orange even have 3200s anymore? Some of those 3200s were from brown anyway. This almost makes me wonder if its 120 going to blue versus 100. I also wanna know will they pair the blue 32's up with the 2600's like they do the Orange or will they run as a full set separately on the Blue Line. I caught 2611-2612 today mixed with 3200s. I caught 2 more trains as well that have a pair of 2600s in the consist. 3457-3458 was on run #412 and #415 this morning and afternoon as well 1
BusHunter
Yeah I saw 3458 myself. It has the interior led signs as well. Saw those hokey signs on the orange line transfers. You mean they didn't keep the roll signs from the 3200s???? I only saw 4 orange line 3200s #3215-16 and #3229-30 #2799-2800 and 3005-06 have the hokey signs but those are transfers. I know #2689-90 transferred. I need to cross reference the roster but orange line had 2889-90, 2851-52, 2861-62, 2983-84, 2789-90, 2815-16, 2869-79, 2789-92, #3197-98, 2817-18, 2922-23, 2692-93, 2721, 2711-12, 2657-58, 2879-80, 2733-34, 2951-52, One the brown they now have alot of the higher 3200s but some of the lower block 3200s are still there saw 3201-02, 3267-70, 3235-36, 3263-64, 3289-90, 3213-14, 3305-06. 3323-24 is on blue line so blue has the block #3319-26. Brown line had 2611-12. That was the only 2600 other than 3458 I saw in service on the brown

BusHunter
Looks like they are testing 3200s on the blue line just passed a quad at irving pk. #3325-26 #3321-22 coinsidentally. That's why these are only running mostly in the rush. We got to be 3200 qualified!!! LOL!!

andrethebusman
As of 11/1 100 3200's on Blue, 188 2600's on Orange (no 3200's). 2809-2810 retired off Blue. 28 2600's on Brown.

Because I was flamed for answering without knowing for sure, I didn't answer @BusHunter's similar post, but I do have a theory. The specs for the rehab kit digital signs say that they run on the same 2 knobs and train wires as the roll signs, but each car has a controller switch which determines which of the 3 sets of 15 readings is displayed on that car's 3 destination signs. My theory is that the switch on 3293 was flipped to Red/Brown/Orange and whatever, and the one for 3294 on Blue/Green/Pink and whatever. The necessary detective work would be whether Kimball and O'Hare are at the same knob position, but were on separate rolls, and hence now separate controller switch positions,

Maybe CTA will put car 3294 on a flatbed, truck it up Lawrence to Jefferson Park, and then lower it onto the tracks so it can go on its merry way to O'Hare. According to wikipedia "Car 3457 was an additional car built for the purpose of serving as a mate to the 2600-series car 3032, after its mate 3031 had been damaged from a derailment at Wilson station on March 15, 1988. 3032 was renumbered 3458. The pair currently runs on the Orange Line,[4] which is currently equipped with both 2600-series and 3200-series cars." Dave Just saw it around Armitage station! Wow, so rare!! ?
