Kedzie hasn't used any if I recall correctly. Yes we see 81xx's on the 12 during weekday mornings, but those are still Chicago operated runs with those buses. I believe what you were getting at is various routes from every garage has experienced these buses, but the case of the 12 shows that that is not necessarily the same as each garage themselves experiencing the buses. Johnny 5
Wow guys, you were right! There is a LFS #8180 on the #12 right now, and others are from the Kedzie garage. I also checked ChicagoBus.org in the Kedzie roster that's saying the #12 Roosevelt has a share with the Chicago garage.

Just be aware that in those morning hours up until about the end of the AM rush some of those New Flyers can be Chicago's instead of Kedzie's. Usually CTA would make an announcement about the other 25 buses (or in the past additional options) before the last bus hits the street. So an announcement may be coming soon unless there won't be an announcement. Now that we know 130 #6400's still exist, thanks to Andre, if they replaced buses 1 for 1 with 45 buses remaining that still leaves 90 #6400's. With the 25 bus option they are still stuck at 65, so still they have to address this somewhere and it won't be with 27 electrics. Unfortunately the #1000 replacements may not be until 2019-20. It may be in the yard only in case something else breaks down first. As I said before, the question is what is the rush hour demand for that garage, plus a 15% spare allocation. On whether they exercise the remaining option for 25, that probably will be addressed in the 2017 Capital Plan, once they know how much FAST Act money they are getting. An announcement for the remaining 25 Novas is very pointless. That's like saying they're bringing back 25 5300s, 6000s, 9800s, etc. from the dead. Electric buses isn't going to fulfill Forest Glen's fleet. It's already bad enough that North Park is being the borrower towards Forest Glen. I wouldn't be surprised if 1000s last for 20 years. I'm just going on past history here, this is what CTA does. If this were Pace, the buses would show up and you'd be like say what??!! Possibly just possibly if they get the 25 buses, like Busjack says they could just eliminated the 30, but if NP is short maybe that's not realistic. i know if they don't get the 25 expect to ride some #6400's for at least 3 more years. The base order green destinations, with the destinations are horribly broke, are still plentiful. They still have 45, so they would have to replace 1 for 1 now without the 25 and we know that won't happen. They could maybe get by with keeping the amber dest. #6400's but these base order ones need to go or they need a long term contract then with a paper company and an ink cartridge one!!

Rahm was only interested in the face time to have an unveiling at 74 when the buses were going to 77. You won't see him on the bus beat until 702 shows up, or unless BYD decides to build a factory in South Deering. He wasn't standing in the middle of the Jefferson Park terminal when 8200 arrived. patman119
North Park has an 8200 series on one of their routes right now. 8204 is currently on the 97/201.

Interesting that is was on the #96 on friday. It must be at np temporarily. The operator was probably sweating bullets on broadway when #8224 was on there. That route has alot of tight clearances due to heavy traffic. Even the #96 has a few cause Lunt is narrow east of California.

If we're talking a North Park operator on a borrowed bus in both those cases, then no there wouldn't be any sweating because NP drivers have experience driving those routes and with the tight squeezes. Not with those buses though. Think of it as you just got a new car. Maybe some can remember the old days of #6690's but these #8200's operate differently. sw4400
I got #8274 yesterday on #152. Operators are still learning clearances with curbs, I guess. My operator planted it into the curb at Lincoln pulling in to pick me up, scraping the low-step against the curb.

It's still the same overall principle BH. There may be some controls here and there that are different, but overall they'd still know how to drive a bus down through the tight spots on Lunt and Broadway if they've driven one through there before.
