What normally would be a two garage swap easily became one involving four garages or more due to trying to keep numerical sequences intact while also keeping desired number of NFs at specific garages relatively constant. So it became a bigger headache than it was worth. Yeah today is the last day of beach service on the 72 at C as well as the last day of service on the 10, extended service until midnight on the 124, and daily service on the 130 outside of that given for concerts and other non-Bears related special events at Soldier Field, which in that case they'll likely use artics. So C and K don't need the extra buses any longer.Add to that CPS students have their first day tomorrow, the individual garage rosters need to be more equalized relatively speaking to be ready for that. Normal fall pick change patterns here.

They generally happen for one of two reasons: 1) One or more garages open or close, as happened in 1994 and 2010 - or - 2) To relieve overcrowding, such as reassignment of the #62 from K to 74th in 2011(?) or more recently, migration of the #157 from K to C. Manny018
Last Thursday around 6pm at state and van burden I saw 4058 on the south bound 146 with a “K” sticker and “K” run number on it. What happened there? Why would a garage run a route that it doesn’t usually run?

They probably called over to K & said that they needed a bus to give em a hand with that route that's probably why

What happened there? Why would a garage run a route that it doesn’t usually run? Was there anything going on ar Soldiet Field? If so, its possible that K ran some extras from downtown to the Museum Campus/Soldier Field. These were probably buses from the 151 and 156, possibly even the 134 and 143 that would've been otherwise deadheading back to K. Its easier to get those buses rather than deadheading buses with extra drivers from P in the middle of rush hour.

That was during the last Bears preseason game, so that's probably why you saw Kedzie running some extra artics during that time frame. You might see a repeat performance tomorrow night as Da Bears host the hated cheeseheads at Soldier Field to open the 2019 NFL regular season.
