jajuan
This morning on bustracker 6694 is on #80 Irving Park. Wondering if this is the start of the switch we heard of that pulls the Novas from NP for a like number of New Flyers.
cta5658
Now #1257, Usually assigned to Forest Glen is operating on 103rd's #95E 93rd/95th

RJL6000
103rd NF 4078 is on #146 and 4073 and 4074 on the #151 and 4075 on the #147 this afternoon on Bustracker. These are part of the new December 16-17 pick, when 103rd gives up most of its 4070s (and maybe its 4050s and 4060s) to NP in preparation for being the first garage to officially operate the new 4300s. NP also received a few more 1320s from Chicago. As for NP's Novas, NP now no longer has any. The remainder of NP's 6470s are going back to 77th, while its 6690s and 6700s are now at FG. In addition, FG sent #1254-#1257 to 103rd. Chicago sent #1477-#1479 to 103rd, as well. NP sent #1798 back to 103rd. At any rate, we won't know until tomorrow or Monday to determine which garage has which buses and which routes.

RJL6000
So north park is going to gain 10-30 more artics? Maybe; maybe not. NP might lose a few of its existing artics to 77th and/or Chicago. Besides, even if NP receives all of 103rd's 4050s, 4060s and 4070s, that would account for only 22 additional artics (of the 4050s, 4050-4057 are Kedzie-based). RJL6000
Some changes for the December pick: At least for weekend runs, the #8 Halsted is now operated out of 77th Garage. 74th will continue to supplement 77th for thr #8 on weekdays. As mentioned, 74th Garage took over all of the runs on the #62 Archer. Likewise, the #35 35th-31st is now a Kedzie Garage route. And the two far southwest routes formerly operated out of 74th, the #52A South Kedzie and the #53A South Pulaski, are now operated out of 77th. Finally, the #71 is now operated entirely out of 103rd (at least for weekend runs although the previous primary garage 77th may continue to supplement 103rd for the #71 on weekdays). On the other hand, there is no change for the #49 or the #54B: #49 continues to be shared between 74th and NP, while the #54B continues to be operated out of Chicago Garage. We'll have to wait until later this morning to determine the garage that will operate the #43, and tomorrow morning to determine which garages will operate some other routes that see any changes. As for equipment shifts, in addition to 103rd losing its 4070s to NP, FG losing 1254-1257 to 103rd and NP losing its Novas to 77th (6471-6474) and FG (6692-6707), FG lost some of its 6800s to 77th. Novas 6825 and 6840 are on the #8A this morning while 6831 is on the #79.

Novas 6825 and 6840 are on the #8A this morning while 6831 is on the #79. The 6800s now based out of 77th go all the way down to at least bus #6820. (That's the number of the bus now on the #53A.) Until recently, the 6800s at 77th ranged only from 6848 to 6883. At one point in 2010 and 2011, 77th had buses 6845, 6846 and 6847 until they went back to FG (only for those three to go back to 77th for this December pick). Now, 77th's 6800s consist of 6820-6831 and 6833-6883. In addition, Chicago Garage may not have any Novas any longer. This weekend, none of the buses in the 6521-6567 and 6569-6573 blocks were operating. That may be in preparation for Chicago Garage to receive its first NF artics (even if the ones that it will receive are hand-me-down 4000s), with the existing Chicago Garage Novas being transferred primarily to FG. There are still some 4060s there operating on the 6 along with some 1000s that have share coverage of the route for the past month. Interesting that 77th got 52A and 53A. Looks like Chicago is no longer operating the 94. That route has all 74th buses today when previously on a weekend the buses would be just about all from Chicago. In fact all the buses on that route are all 74th Novas except 1582 the lone 74th 1000 series on the route. Looks like we find out tomorrow if Kedzie keeps any north Lake Shore express runs outside of 134 and 143 now that 145 is gone starting today and 148 is rerouted and absorbs parts of 144 come tomorrow. When it was in operation, the #145 was operated primarily out of Kedzie on weekdays (with NP supplementing rush-hour service), with all weekend runs on that route handled by NP. Kedzie still has most of the Union Station to Belmont short-turn trips on the #151. These short #151 runs operate midday on weekdays and mid-morning to late afternoon on weekends. RJL6000
One more garage/route change that I failed to mention: Route #51 (51st Street), formerly operated out of 74th, is now (at least on weekends) operated from 77th. This creates a rather odd pattern where the 43rd and 51st Street routes are handled by 77th while the 47th and Garfield routes are still handled by 74th. Something has to be left for 74th. But it was already an odd pattern before that in that previously you had 35, 39, and 43 out of 77th, then 47, 51, 55, 59, 63, 67 and 75 out of 74th, then 77th picking up again with 79 and 87 with sharing among 71 and at times the 95W. But yes tomorrow will be an interesting day with more switches..Wouldn't be surprised if 1 went to Kezdie and 2 either goes to 103rd entirely or splits with 77/103rd. The 52A & the 53A coming out of 77th makes sense in that you could begin/end those routes on the.south end. They can deadhead to/from 77th via the Dan Ryan and I 57 or Vincennes and 111th. It is odd that 77th would handle 51st, but like the 35th & Pershing Routes,.the reliefs can be made at the 47 th Red Line, at least until the Ryan shutdown. I see this route going back to 74th next pick.

Everything can't be shared even if there has been more sharing among garages after the Archer garage closing. But yeah in the case of the 1, can't really see much reason for it to remain at 77th now that come tomorrow it's cut back all the way to 35th Street. Also, the #39 Pershing route, which was operated frequently with Optimas when it was operated out of 77th, is now also operated out of Kedzie. As a result, 77th gave up all seven of its Optimas to FG (getting all of FG's Novas from 6820 on up in return).
