Unfortunately, you don't seem to have much to contribute.

RIght now I'm shocked that a few more Novas are leaving FG for 103 in exchange for New Flyers + a few more New Flyers from Kedzie.

However, it looks to me that CTA is trying to even out the 8350s between FG and 103 (as was predicted) and making room for the electric buses at C, given that a good number is running on 66.

Yeah that seems to be the route they're taking now with almost all of the #600s in active service now. What I don't understand is why 74th has received so much fresh equipment from C and 77th. Almost everything we've gotten so far from 74th has been problematic. I've had #1431-#1433 over the weekend and they had nothing but issues, biggest issues being sluggish transmissions,bad brakes, buring considerable amounts of oil and low coolant levels, hopefully the rest of the block we've received aren't as bad as those three mentioned but I highly doubt it. Seems like 74th has the 2nd highest total of novas now behind FG.

1445, 1448-1455 & 1457-1459 74th to Chicago

Also, anything between 1430-1444 that wasnt said are at 77th

This in conjunction with what @Busjack mentioned about the New Flyer moves being due to making room for the electrics and also evening out the rosters explains why I spotted 1448 on the #157 yesterday morning.

I get the aspect for the #600s but why does C need #8350s?  Is it for P/R or just temporary because they could of easily took the entire #1400 block that 77th received in exchange for the #81/#8200s  they lost to 74th.

Several changes over the outage:

40-foot:

1050-1064: 103rd -> FG

1195-1205, 1207-1209, 1213 and 1236: 103rd -> 77th

1366-1375, 1381-1384, 1386: 77th -> 74th

1505, 1507, 1510, 1512, 1514, 1515, 1518, 1521, 1522, 1523, 1528, 1537, 1538, 1540, 1543: NP -> FG

1836-1840, 1853, 1854, 1895, 1896, 1924, 1926, 1928, 8011: K -> C

1841-1846, 1849-1852: C -> K

8186-8191, 8193-8201: C -> 74th

This list does not include the 8350-series moves, where all of FG’s buses numbered higher than 8410 (this does not include those 8350s already at 103rd) went to C (8411-8430) and 103rd (8433-8449).

77th and C finally got rid of their remaining attics: All of 77th’s went to 103rd while all of C’s went to K.

Thanks for this. I did see 4029 on J14 going SB @79th and Jeffery.

So NP didn't gain artics? For some reason it feels like a few C purged artics also went to NP to fill in a few gaps left from the NP 1500s going to FG.

Why is Chicago garage getting 8350s from what I’ve seen on some posts 74th and 77th are in need of a newer fleet. Also I think the 1000s are retiring at NP and they won’t get any new buses until whatever series is ordered to replace what 1000s couldn’t be replaced by the 8350s. There might be two garages that don’t end up with 8350s and NP would likely be one of them. Is NP mileage the reason why they are usually the last garage to receive new 40 footers.

77th and 74th seem to perpetually be in need of new buses which would mean other garages would always get hand me downs..

Historilly NP has gotten new equipment and historically they have been adverse to having Novas.  So if they continue to not want Novas, they are going to have the New Flyers.    Compared to other garages, they have a low amount of 40ft buses considering the large amount of artics they have.  It may make more sense to keep that garage New Flyer because of the smaller amount of 40 ft buses.

That explains why NP only received 1000s for 4000s from Chicago and 77th back in 2020. I’m happy to see the artic assignments mostly back to normal, NP got boring just being all 1000s in place of the 4000s.

NP was never close to all 1000s.

If there was any trend, it was Novas or artics, although 77th and c  had both at one time or another, and 103 and K more or less recently got Novas. One could look at the posted rosters, but I would think that in 2021, each garage had a fairly even allocation of 1000s.
