More Bus Moves

Spotted 1860 on 36 Broadway. I'm referring this on behalf of BusHunter's garage roster because 1860 was part of Chicago Garage with the rest of the upper 1800s (even).

1860 is one of three even-numbered buses in the 1855-1860 range that Chicago Garage sent to North Park when Chicago started receiving artics.

Yes I made note of it last Friday directly in the roster page after I spotted it physically on the 135, but BH may not have had a chance to change it yet.

I think #1269 has been at NP for awhile, but they seem to be in no big hurry to mark the bus as such... I picked the bus up going north on Damen this afternoon, and it still has an "F" sticker in the window.

BTW: Totally rehabbed... seats, LED's, etc.... my only thought on the rehab is why didn't they replace the little florescent lights up near the driver on the left and right? They are still burned out like they've been on #1000-1629 for years now. It looks like a tacky light rehab like that.

I didn't see it reported officially on the roster. Maybe it's new or I missed it, I'll change it now. As far as where the Xcelsiors will go, my guess would be Kedzie or Chicago as they have had experimental buses before, but 74th did have the designline bus for a few weeks.

Speaking of the new Novas, it looks like the prototype bus along with With the full delivery of the rest will be here in February.

It's looking more and more like that, which gets away from normal CTA bus orders. The prototype typically arrives a few months ahead of the order so the CTA can go over and make changes to things that they dislike. #1000 arrived in November, 2005 and the rest started arriving in February, 2006.

It is NP short on artic bus today because I saw 4044 & 4048 on 151 Sheridan to Devon/Clark and 4046 and 4047 on the #146 on bustracker.

They may have been filling in for delayed buses. The roads were pretty much a mess during the last couple of hours of snowfall earlier this evening. A lot of routes had buses delayed. The 9 and 22 for example had 30 minute minimum delays. The 22 northbound was bad enough for another 22 to need to pull on to the route at Irving Park with the three buses it was trying to fill in a gap for still 20 minutes back. I and other riders who came off the #9 bus I was on had waited just 10 minutes but the other folks who were there said they had already been waiting 15 to 20 minutes when we got off the 9.

If my eyes are correct, I believe the window to the motorman's cab on 3212 is wide open. Probably the case when 3212 was coupled together, a yard worker inside the train opened the window to communicate with personnel outside during the coupling process, but forgot to close it afterward.

You're correct indeed but it's very rare to have a cab window that wide open though especially if it's not the last car of a 4, 6, or 8-car set! It's a different story if conductors forget to close the windows by the door switches on the left side inside the cab because anybody, especially a passenger, can easily close it.

Taggers hitting the Brown Line en masse now... this is 3438's interior. There was more near the other side, but with people there, I decided to err on the side of caution and not be snapping photos with my phone.

Put 3335 in the books. Gangbangers with gang signs "Forty BBK" on the steel interiers by the doors.
