Well 4388 went even further with the clean air signs that NP buses have been displaying so much lately. It's on the 135 right now, and after showing route and destination it shows "WELCOME" flip "CTA NEW FLYER" flip "NEXT STOP" flip "CLEAN AIR". Maybe CTA is  indeed trying to tell us something with the clean air sign displays.

 

That is the current trend. I see that 103rd has most  NF outfitted with PA signs  could it be tied to funding? It's different none the less

Who knows? I spotted 4163 deadheading on LSD and 4385 on the 146 both also sporting the longer sign I saw on 4388.

1181 on the #9 as leader to the bus I'm currently riding. So 74th appears to possibly have picked up more than thought. Wonder what they gave up if anything since 1000s had to go there to replace what 6400s that 8000-8099 didn't to accomplish 6400s being purged from there.

Saw #1297 on the #82 one day this week and that was a 74th bus.

Hmm... #1367 is currently on the #9

Interesting about 1367 when I saw I believe it was 1369 on the #12 either yesterday or Wednesday. Well that's unless 1367 is a weekend move. But those don't typically occur until Friday nights when they do happen.

Maybe the #1300's are going south after all. But why? Is 74th short? Looks like all the Kedzie #1000 extras from the rehabs are going down there. Maybe they took too much away from 74th with the 100 #8000's for 122 #6400's trade. But I thought they might have got extra #1000's for the summer pick.

I took a look at my records. 74th had about 136 #1000's for spring pick and they now have 148. So maybe they are 10 light, but usually they lose buses for the summer, so I don't get it.

I havewasn't t4-1368 all moving to 74th in June, however 1365 is on the 10 (K) today so perhaps that one has moved back.

I double checked that whole #1351-69 block and they were at the right locations. But andre said the roster said most of the #1300's in that block was at 74th which bustracker disputed.

 

Damn no #8100's now that I'm out here!! But some interesting stuff is going on on the #52. #1678 is rehabbed out here but it's a ghost bus #1809's leader. Also #1651 is on the #52 and that was a chicago bus.

They might have realized even though the 1000s are presumably in better condition than the 6400s because of the age and the rehabs, they might not have left 74th with a high enough spare ratio. But you also pointed out that something from 74th's other 1000s did go to Kedzie. And you also spotted a 1600 or two previously at Chicago having returned back to Kedzie. So maybe they're also going to start cleaning up the mess they made of the 1000s' fleet number sequences with that mass NF swaporama done because of both rehabs and spring pick. Or at the very least they're cleaning up fleet number blocks to reduce scattering of fleet numbers as it's also been appearing former 103rd 1800s are going back to being mainly Kedzie assigned.

1377 is on the 73 right now. Wasn't that a North Park transplant to Kedzie in fall and spring picks? And was 1454 one of those former Chicago buses that was assigned to Kedzie during the spring swaporamas? I'm seeing that on the 72.

1364 was reported on 9 6/22/15, 1365 on 94 6/27/15, 1367 on 9 7/23/15 and 1368 on 62 6/12/2015.

1366 is on 67 today, and 1367 on 47 according to Bustracker.

So they are/ have all been at 74th in the last two months.

The only odd one is 1365 which was on 10 (bustracker). 10 is still a K route?

But you just said #1367 was on the #9 2 days ago!! o.O That's not two months. #1351 is now at 74th too. CTA is moving things around, I know I was right before with the statement about the double checking them. I did that cause I was in doubt of where they were. But things change rapidly at CTA. 

I wonder if this in an attempt to not give FG any #1000's. Excuse my suspicious nature, but that's what happens when you are repeated passed up for newer equipment. It seems 74th is benefiting off the latest #1000 spares. That leaves FG out in the cold.

CTA is either doing something along the red line or maybe this is normal, but so far, sitting in traffic, I've seen 2 train consists, one of which was 3200 series (I saw 333X specifically) heading NB, presumably from 98th yard. The first one I spotted points north of Sox-35th and the second one points north of 55th. Both trains had corrugated sidings, but I couldn't make out the roll signs on the second train, which leads me to believe it might be 5000 series, because I could make out the white lettering on the 3200 consist. As I type now, another one just passed heading NB, but this was definitely 5000 as the NIS roll sign was on. Maybe someone more experienced can tell what's going on, at least for the 3200 consist

Those are Brown Line trains detoured to the subway. They go all the way to 98th or 63rd middle to lay up between runs. Also some of those other trains may have been 3200's with LED signs.

I saw a 151 4300 series heading NB on Clark at Pratt[?] that had "New Flyer" on the destination sign Saturday evening about 8:20 PM. That's all I could read when I glanced up at it.

Don't know why a 151 was on Clark there, but it was empty, maybe deadheading to Howard to go south.

Thanks, Sam. Now that I'm passing in daylight, I saw two consists heading north that had NIS roll signs, featuring 3338, 3353 on one and 3237 on another. Im passing 98th yard right where it starts when you leave the station and I see 3239 sitting there at the head of a consist. However, does the red line use 63rd middle as well, because there was a 5000 consist sitting there that had 5219-20 and 5563-64?

Since I live a block away from Clark/Arthur, I know exactly what starts/ends there. The 151 was 3 blocks north of there. I walked out of McDonald's at Pratt & there it was.

I guess you were asking whether a 151 would convert into a 22 or 147.

There were no stragglers.    The entire block traveled to 74th in sync with the spring pick.

 Meanwhile,  6449 has recently migrated from C to FG,  since the arrival of the first 8100s.    It was operating on Belmont earlier today.  Assuming that the exodus of Chicago Avenue's 6400s continues,   it'll be interesting to see what happens once all 45 are gone.   

Will Forest Glen actually start receiving NewFlyers?    That might be the logical assumption,   but past patterns have been known to defy logic.  Maybe there's a second-hand-Novas-from-Montreal option that none of us knows about.  <smirk>
