On another note, in addition to 1376-1385 and 8200-8211, Chicago also received 1601 from 77th. From the looks of today, very little has changed with artic deployment levels and patterns at the remaining artic garages. NP's artic count didn't change since it sent the same amount of artics to Kedzie that it sent got from Chicago. So it's no surprise it's artic deployments haven't changed. But it looks like though that Kedzie and 103rd are treating their increase in artics as extras to have on standby just in case since each didn't exactly increase the number of artics on the road too much beyond Sam noting this morning that the 82 had a few extra artics during the rush period. 6, J14, and 26 all still had 1000s in service today, and 6 and J14 both had at least one 1000 on the road yesterday and Saturday. In PM NP sends one or two out.
sht6131
I think the K artics mentioned in the AM are school trips (I believe 4)that terminate at Peterson than head east for a AM trip downtown. The NP PM trips are school trips to Congress than head east for a downtown PM trip north.

Either way, not much has changed at Kedzie or 103rd in terms of artic deployment patterns. They're both treating their extra artics so far more like standbys and a bigger list of choices to pick from since as has been noted the number of artics they sent out has been more in keeping with what they typically use on a weekday. Busjack
RedEye review of transit for the year. Relevant here to the test of plastic inserts, apparently the 20 somethings to whom the RedEye caters do not like fabric seat inserts. Sam92
Looks like ridership on the 26 midday is up. I see about 6-7 artics on the route and like 2-3 1000's.

Not really much of a change there. There are times of the midday when artics would outnumber the 40 footers on the 26 even before the 103rd artic increase. . geneking7320
Hi Folks; Twice recently on the westbound #95 I have used the Ctatext function to determine the next bus arrival time. Once I was at the stop near the South Chicago MED station [on east 92nd street] and 27 minutes was indicated. When I turned and faced east [in less than 1 minute] the bus was crossing the tracks. Christmas night I waited for the bus at 93rd and Jeffery [stop code 12015]. It was a bit foggy and I didn't see a bus coming but it was due to arrive in 22 minutes. The 22 minutes went by in less than 60 seconds. The driver thought that the 22 minutes might have been the bus which followed him. I think it should have shown DUE. In any event I was glad I didn't have a long wait for the bus. Hope you all had a great Christmas!

To confirm that, it is the height of the rush hour. Andre said it takes 12 buses to run the route, which makes sense since it is a 2 hour round trip running every 11-13 minutes. Yet, Bus Tracker shows only 5 buses:

The 2 necessary fixes are separate. As I mentioned, there must be a programming error in the Clever Device that causes the buses not to show up on BusTracker, or anything derived from it, such as ctatext. They've had 4 months to fix it but have not. Now, whether the Luminator program has been fixed to show the destinations of 95 87th-Damen and 95 92nd-Buffalo will have to be determined by someone standing at a bus stop.* _____ *Similar to when I said that 604 was on Webwatch, but at the corner of Hintz Road and Buffalo Grove Road, the bus signs displayed "A1 Message."
