More Bus Moves

yeah they started slipping them in around August or so. Does anyone know the roster for 4300's yet?

So far I know its

4300-4324 at 103rd

Actually, as of now, 4300-4322 are at 103rd (4321 was recently transferred from Kedzie to 103rd). Kedzie now has buses 4324-4332, plus the 4333 diesel (and maybe a few more 4330s). Everything from 4339 on up are all at 77th. 4323 is currently on long-term hold.

In addition to picking up 1162-1165 from 74th (1160 and 1161 are still at 74th), Kedzie also picked up 1721-1723 from 74th. Some of the 6500s that were at 77th were transferred to Forest Glen while others were transferred to Chicago Garage. 6489 and the other upper 6400s were also transferred to Chicago Garage.

Finally, 77th sent buses 1303-1310 (specifically, 1303, 1304 and 1306-1310 since 1305 is on long-term hold) back to North Park.

Also, all of the remaining Optimas are now at Forest Glen. The UofC routes are now operated entirely with conventional 40-foot NF buses.

Hearing that is like music to my ears I can't wait to see for myself when I go back to work. So there are no more optimas at 103rd that is awesome. Somebody should update the bus roster for the garages then.

4334 is on the 151 serving among the Belmont trips so Kedzie just may have the diesels from the the 4330s except for 4339 as you left room for hypothesis.

Never thought I'd see artics again on the #2. #4345 is currently running that.

Actually 77th had starting using artics on the 2 here and there in the tail end of the summer even when it still had only the 28 artics used mostly for Dan Ryan shuttle work.

On a side note, 111A now shows up on BusTracker and gives evidence that 103rd does still have Optimas in some degree. 509 is on the route.

6881 showing up on the 75 so it's looking like 74th picked up some higher number 6800 Novas to replace the NFs it sent to Kedzie. As a matter of fact it's looking like 74th is operating its lower to middle ridership routes with a heavier usage of Novas than NFs.

So apparently ridership to walmart isn't that high

I'm surprised there were not any artics running on 87th Street. I always though it had a decent ridership level to have a few assigned to it. Maybe we will see them on that route later in the week.

Most riders get off at state from east to west and vise verse ,but yeah ive always wondered why 77th doesnt use any artics on 87th street.

They did when the NABIs were around. Probably, though, the better question is 3 and 4 only having scattered artics this a.m. rush, instead, of, say, a more concentrated amount on 3.

Apparently there doesn't need to be a more concentrated usage on those two like on the 79 which never seems to have a slow down moment in ridership like those two except maybe in night time hours.

Doesn't look like it. Not to the degree that one would expect based on the alderman and the Walmart were making a big stink with CTA not yet honoring the agreement to provide some form of bus service to the shopping complex.
