sw4400
I would've thought Forest Glen sent #6692-96 (maybe more) to 74th in exchange of #6876-83. I'm pretty sure FG will get 6876-6883 eventually, garmon.
Kimball401
U guys know I go to extreme measures for u guys cause I love ya lol this is what I got 15 min ago at 77th South Shops. C. 1993,1876,2006 P. 1885,1328,1407* K.1695,1880,1648,1677, 1.1008,1248,1357,1424*,1574,1503,2014* 6.1119,1724,1051,1589 F.6815,6650,6702,6400^ 7.1014,4202,7920,7904,7910. *buses were labeled "hold for inspection and transfer to" : ^6400 was parked in the back with a wet paint sign . F was in the window so I gave forest glenn that one . Photos for the 7900's proof of physical location day photos were from my last visit which was mentioned in the 7900's series forum.
jajuan
This afternoon I saw #1669 and #6503 on #62 on bustracker. 1669 could have been a possible K rush supplement like has happened in the past, though past supplements from K have been reported done with K's artics. 1932 is on the 49 right now, I think 74th is short busses today. I only say that because 1933 is on #2 and 1934 is on the 4 right now so I think and hope that it is temporary. Don't forget guys that the 49 is operated by both 74th and NP, so 1932 wasn't necessarily a loan to 74th. It also could have been a loan to NP. However, garmon and my (garmon beat me to the punch in reporting his sighting here ) sighting of 1057 on the 9 yesterday lends credence to 1932 being loaned to 74th for use on the 49 instead of NP. This is why for shared routes it helps to get the garage code from the run number box if and when possible. I'm pretty sure FG will get 6876-6883 eventually, garmon. Sorry sw, but you can't say that's going to happen for sure. The Novas of the 6400 series has been seeing individual buses retired out of sequence. Add that to the reports of the assignments among the garages being in a little bit of a flux, and what could probably be said with more certainty is that 6876-6883 may not necessarily still be here to join the other 6800s. Or from looking at established history of how a model going through retirement seeing individual buses getting shifted around like crazy as more buses from that series got retired, they may make their way back to the same garage with the other 6800s, but the garage at that point might not necessarily be FG. In other words, for all we know what's left of the 6800s out of the first generation CTA Novas once all the 7900s CTA eventually decides to get are here could make their way to a totally different garage altogether. garmon757
Has anybody every saw an artic on #36? If not, then #4161 is operating that route right now. Update: #1057, #1932, and #1942 is back @ 77th. #1057 is on #24, #1932 is on #1, and #1942 is on #2 right now. #7900 continues it's run on #52A right now. #7901 continues it's run on #1 right now. artthouwill
If 77th is indeed getting 7900s, then I guess the plan is to split the 7900s among 4 garages(77th, 74th, C,FG) with each getting 75 buses. If by some chance, CTA plans to split this delivery among 3 garages with each getting 100, then it would seem only fair that Chicago Ave would be the odd garage out considering it has the newest of the 1000 series NF. BusHunter
Of course, there is still the issues of any options and 60 foot buses. Yeah it seems to me they would do 100 at each garage and do the last option at fg. If they sent fg nf's that should quiet the garage critics, myself included. It would seem then 74th would get nf's too to offset the 130 something nova's they have now and put them in a more manageable state. Of course they could just bypass fg altogether with the #7900's if they really want to milk the safety issue. I don't see what fg would get out of tank sneeze guards. They then could then do 150 at each of the other 3 garages and fg would be the all new flyer garage, but that wouldn't be until 2016. I tried to see last night if #1537 was going to pull in at Berwyn on the #49, but it stayed in service. Something tells me that's a NP bus. Since it was clear that they were replacing 529 buses (484 Novas and 45 Optimas) with the 100 60LFRs and whatever is in this procurement, I figure they eventually have to get the 450 buses originally stated for this procurement, however it breaks down. Since the allocation of the 1000s didn't depend on that they first ordered 265 buses, maybe they have in their heads that Ashland is going to get artics. one way or the other. jajuan
Of course, there is still the issues of any options and 60 foot buses. There's also the issue that from an average fleet age standpoint and adding in the fact that the NF 1000s are undergoing rehabs, 77th lost a big chunk of its need for new buses when it pushed its 6400s on to C, FG and 74th. It's interesting how 77th is always on the list to get assigned new buses even when its roster of buses doesn't reflect it getting assigned a new model being warranted. Yeah it seems to me they would do 100 at each garage and do the last option at fg. If they sent fg nf's that should quiet the garage critics, myself included. Busjack's last point suggests that bypassing FG altogether could be difficult unless either NP, Kedzie or 103rd is chosen as a fourth garage instead of FG. And I can just see CTA5750's head exploding if FG got bypassed for new buses this time around when it would seem that it's FG's turn sort to speak from looking at how buses got allotted with each procurement between 1995 and today in addition to the fact that FG is facing a similar situation today with the 6400s that 74th did in the Huberman days when 74th got stocked with nothing but 6000s and was originally going to get bypassed completely in getting any 1000s if not for a good number of the 6000s at 74th dying and then in the Rodriguez days the 6000s all getting retired altogether. . ajm522
My guess (it's only a guess) is that they will have a very limited number of 7900's (not enough to transfer significant amount of NF) and then spread the rest around C, 74th and FG. I don't see a reason for 77th to have a hundred of them. Especially since they are 100% protected (which was one of the reasons Nova got the boot from there).

jajuan
How did a bus from Chicago get to 103rd? Make that two. I'm guessing from his mention that those two buses had transfer labels on them, that they were apparently getting transferred there. If that's the case, they made rather interesting choices for transfers.
BusHunter
The last two days bus #7901 has been on the #1 and left Jackson and Canal around 7:25 am. I could probably use an earlier run if there is one, but thanks anyway. I was wanting to take one more trip on the brown line with #2400 brownages and possibly take some pictures, but I believe they all come through the loop around 7-7;30am heading to Kimball. A source has given me the brownage timetable so i'm all set. I couldn't believe when they told me, they have 6 brownage runs and three of them are like one after the other. The last run to Kimball is supposed to go out there and do whatever it's needed for. It can go back into service or deadhead sb. One time I thought I heard it went into a work capacity. As for the New Flyer 1000s, some of what Chicago Garage currently has will be transferred to Kedzie and 103rd while some of 77th's New Flyers will go to 103rd and 74th. And 103rd is sending some of its 1500s to North Park.

Mr.cta85
Make that two. I'm guessing from his mention that those two buses had transfer labels on them, that they were apparently getting transferred there. If that's the case, they made rather interesting choices for transfers.Make that 4 according to the previous post, it said 1357,1424,1574,& 2014 all are which would be new here at 103rd as far as series numbers are concerned. 1248 was at 103rd previously before it got transferred to 77th. 1249 was part of that transfer also but apparently stayed at 77th. 1008 & 1503 have always been at 103rd unless they were loaners for another garage. I know one thing it'll be quite interesting to see 2014 at 103rd considering the new flyers we have don't have the longitude seating like the upper 1000's I believe starting with the 1900's and up. Some operators will do a double take when Pre tripping 2014 whoever gets that bus lol. I hope 103rd does get some 1900's or more 2000's I personally will think its pretty darn cool.
